You can carry on using the bundled Vodafone software, just add a new connection profile using the T-Mobile details, so rather than internet as the APN and web/web as username/password add the T-Mobile details.

I've got a 5505 in my new D820 and had no problems getting it to work with a friends T-Mobile sim with web and walk plus enabled.

We have 2 D820s, a 420 and (IIRC) 3 620s all set up using T-Mobile, as described above. OK, there's a Vodafone logo on the software, if you choose to use it, but it works fine. I've retrofitted the cards to a couple of those machines as well, and it's a really easy upgrade. Card costs about £127 ex VAT, but it's a lot tidier than an add-in card or USB stick, and you may be able to get some movement on the tariff if the telco doesn't have to supply the card. http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...&sku=556-10002

I use the exact same setup with the T-Mobile Communication Center software that came with the T-Mobile WebNWalk card.

It gives you image recompression while browsing so you use less of your data limits.

With the glossy screens like on the M1210, most times the compressed images are good enough.
