O2 issues ?

Lately over the last few weeks I've noticed a few issues that are appearing.

I've tested this myself and what happens is even that my phone's on with a full battery and over 80% signal - it goes straight to my voicemail yet I can still ring out and when I do this calls come back through.

Also, SMS messages are not coming in as quick as well with 1 delivered on Sunday night which was sent to me on Saturday night by my housemate and the "missed call" texts have been appearing 24 hours later than expected.

Anyone else on O2 having these issues?

could you please tell me what phone and how old it is? firmware versions etc?

i used to have this problem with my old k700i, a new phone but after two years considered obsolete.

I've had this before, I had to phone up and they reset something their end. Basically all my texts were 'stuck' in a que and would all come through in a large lump once a week.

As to the messaging service I set mine to off long ago as when I took out my contract they still used to practice the dodgy art of putting calls through to voicemail even when I had signal.

Maybe I'm just paranoid but then I have had the same contract now for over 10 years

Best to give them a call and report a problem with your sms messages.

I've tested this with more than 1 handset ( P800, K800 ) just to make sure I was getting paranoid.

I've emailed O2 CS about this so I'll await their reply

My Girlfirend and her parents are all on O2 they all this week have had problems with the network. Texts not coming through and sometimes even calls not connecting (ringing on phone but not ringing the person they are ringing stc....

Have you tried putting it on manual network selection. This forces the handset to connect to a particular cell in the triangulation and stay connected to it unless you move out of its area of coverage.

There could be a problem with one of their towers that you are connected to causing the hold up.

This is not just limited to my home location though.

It happens at work, home and sometimes in Manchester so I think there's an issue with too many handsets trying to connect to the network personally.

Ahh well - it's an excuse to go get a new phone and change provider

My sister's on O2, no probs for her.

You're right, it probably is network congestion, or it could be a switching problem nearby. Although you'll never get any network CS rep to admit to congestion.
