Vodafone by far - Coverage is second to none, had no downtime in the life of my contract, haven't experienced their upgrades or international usage, but I'm guessing its pretty average. Data rates - £1 for the first 15mb, not sure after that, never got that high.

Ive never had anything but excellent service from tmobile, and you cant beat wnw for data rates. If you can hold out till they do 25% off the contracts the rates are pretty competitive too

On overall ratings, I perceive T-Mobile to be top of the pack at the moment. Their price plans and optional extras such as WnW are superior to VF at the moment whom I consider to be second place and everyone else to be lagging way behind (i.e. Orange with their laughable 30Mb data plan).

I'm actually with VF and have been for all of my mobile contracts (barring a brief stint of 2 months with O2) over the past 8 years, and have never had any serious complaints. However, I think they're aiming to drop a large proportion of their retail customers in favour of pursuing the business market (more money & less complaints).

IMO vodafone have the best coverage, but they know it and therefore charge more for their services. For me, it's the data plans that push T-Mobile into the lead.

You can get an unlimited package (1Gb FUP) with T-mobile for £7.50 whilst VF is around 130Mb for the same price. I don't use much data at the moment but my next phone will be a PDA type phone for mobile email/internet. I don't fancy paying £2/Mb after the 15Mb allowance on the odd occassion I need some extra allowance.

Once the phone I want is released, I'll be giving T-Mobile a go and waving goodbye to VF.

Vodafone for me. I was briefly a t-mobile customer for about 2 weeks but quickly jumped ship back to a network that understood that it was a bit of a problem if I couldn't receive any calls.

On a business level, also Vodafone. We switched to O2 a few years back and promptly switched back to Vodafone as we had no end of problems - international call bars were not lifted despite O2 saying they were (bit of a problem for me as I'm of the UK more than I'm in it), calls were droppling left right and centre (confrimed as network issues not handset) and the customer service was shambolic.

I've gone for 3 just due to the fact they are leaps and bounds ahead of the other providers in terms of data.

I've just done a great little beta trial with them and the stuff they will release in the next couple of months will blow the others out of the water.

Customer service is still shocking though

Vodafone by far (I would say that though! )

The tarrifs recently are pretty good where you can get upto 3 free extras on the account like text packs etc if you are on an 18 month contract. Recently launched Voda Mobile Internet where you can get on the WWW via the live portal, it re renders the web pages making them smaller in size than the origional (looks exactly the same as the origional also). VMI can get on ebay, youtube, amazon and myspace to name a few of the bigger ones, HEXUS looks great. You can get 120 Mb of data connection for £7.50 per month which is loads considering the re rendering of pages.

Also just recently launched Vodafone at home. £25 per month and you get a free Netgear Ethernet Modem. That £25 also includes your BT line rental. If you are wanting a wireless router it costs a mere £25 for a Netgear one. Setup is free and you can have upto a 8 Mb connection and unlimited access.

At the minute they seem to be doing everything right, love being part of their retail team.

see all i ever hear is vodaphone have the best coverage / best deals etc but ive yet to see any of it, if i go into my local vodaphoe shop their deals are beaten by orange and o2 who are roughly the same. as for coverage i have been a user of vf, orange t moblile and now o2 and round this area at least, o2 are the best. even when i was on holiday a while back in ventnor in the isle of wight i could scrape a bar or 2 on 02, while my parents, one orange user the other vodaphone both couldnt get any.

IMO none, I use a large ammount of data as I'm away from home a lot and so I'm on T-Mobile web n walk as its so much cheaper compared to ANY other company. The problem is their call charges are quite expensive, after being on Vodafones Stop the Clock for 18mnths I have got very used to long calls on my mobile, in the first month with being on a hefty contract with TMob I have clocked up over £100 in calls in one month :S I have also noticed their coverage is pretty shocking compared to Vodafones - that said I am often inside large buildings in Birmingham and London rather than outside in remote places! One venue recently has really frustrated me in Birmingham, I was on the phone to my boss and just couldn't get a proper signal - eventually the bass tech just handed me his phone which was on Orange and it worked fine

Had no problem in the years I've been on O2 (formerly btcellnet).

Coverage has been great wherever I've been, including the wilds of Shetland and remote scottish moors. International coverage is fine as well, and fairly cheap.

Not sure about data rates though, as I just use my mobile for phoning.

O2 was quite good for me until they decided to restrict the special numbers from inclusive minutes..

One time i ran my minutes up to 100pounds by accident and called them up. They were nice enough to credit me and take my minutes from the following month. either i was lucky or they are good to their customer. I get a lot of discounts from international calls too

They all seem to have their ups and downs..

I've been with O2/BT Cellnet since I first had a mobile, the coverage is excellent, even in remote areas of England and Ireland.

Their downside is the lack of data tarriffs, something I think TMobile exel themselves on

Im gonna say vodafone, cause a few years ago, not sure if its the case now, you could not got a reliable signal with any1 but vodafone! Also them being a newbury company might have been a slight influence, I must say though you can get some great tariffs and phones on vodafone, but what ever you do dont go into the vodafone shops! they offer you feck all! My advice use vodafone but get your phone and contract from the car phone warehouse!
