own a 60 gig ipod video, also one of the best purchases i've made.
The first 2 comments are priceless. Typical Apple fanboys:
I thought safari was a browser not a game hey ho.Songs as Ringtones - don't need them.
• Games - Yes it does. It has Safari.
• Any flash support - It has Safari which supports standards. Flash is not a standard.
• Instant Messaging - Two words: AIM Express in Safari.
• Picture messages (MMS) - E-mail.
• Video recording - Already have a camera.
• Direct iTunes Music Store Access - Safari.

Songs as ringtones: which phones will let you use your full MP3s as ringtones?
Instant Messaging: iChat?
Picture Messages: attach e-mail? isn't this in the commercial?
Video recording: confirmed it's not the
And songs My se w850 phone lets me have a full song as a ring tone
8Gb SD cards are alreasy available, sdhc cards to be precise... the US version of the iPhone is only 2G, the european version is expected to be upgraded and have better features and be 3G, so for once us over here in the UK might actually come out better off...
im a mac user, and an apple fan, but i do think that the iPhone first version will probably suck, there are quite a few key features missing...

Before you go all fuzzy and embarrasing on everyone buying that <language mate> of a mobile, i think you should see this website on the said item.!

This has been the week from hell as far as iPhone hype goes. Over and over and over, we've all been subjected to more and more iPhone blather. Enough already! It's time to cut this stupid phone down to size, once and for all! And mark my words, that's all it is...a stupid phone! It is not a cure for cancer, it will not bring peace to the world, it will not feed the hungry or provide homes to the homeless. It's a freaking phone and it's high time somebody drew a line in the sand and said: Thus far and no farther with the iBlather!
So here are ten reasons why you should NOT buy an iPhone. No doubt the Apple Cultists will flame me for saying it like it is but it's about time somebody did. So here is why you should avoid this vile piece of over-hyped crap:

ha, brilliant... the UK version is expected to be 3G though
And will probably cost 400 quid on contract
While I agree this is a lacking feature compared to current mobiles. I couldn't be happier to not have to listen to crap tunes played every 30 seconds as peoples phones go off.Originally Posted by j.o.s.h.1408
no songs has ringtones? please be joking
It is Inevitable.....
I've been known to surgically implant a hammer in someones head if the ring tone is annoying and too frequently used.
Does that count ?
It is Inevitable.....
It doesn't appear to just be songs though, it looks like it's any mp3 etc. I realise it's a personal preference thing, but I far prefer the sound of the mp3/aac/whatever tones than the midi nightmares we used to have to put up with. Especially if you take into account those who don't change their ringtones ever, the aac version of the Nokia tune (piano version) is immeasurably preferable to the original non-polyphonic screech which used to punctuate bus journeys...
The iPhone looks srubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishy, but that's about it. My main problem around it is that it really is being marketed as if it's some kind of incredible leap forward whereas in reality it's a good couple of years behind comparable models features-wise (no A2DP on a "music" phone! No 3G on an "internet" phone!). I can't imagine why anyone would want one unless it's for the looks, and even then I'd put the Prada, one or two of the Samsungs and a couple of the other LGs ahead in that department.
3G should be an addition to the european model apparently.
AT&T upgraded their EDGE network to Fine-EDGE so users are seeing data-rates of upto 220kbits. This is more than enough to render a website.
The i in iphone doesn't stand for internet also. At no point in time, has this phone been marketed as an internet phone.
If you could tell me a use for A2DP, i'd be grateful![]()
Well blue tooth headphones work a lot better with A2DP.
