    Nokia N95 games?

I've heard of a few games for the Nokia N95 such as System Rush.. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any games I could purchase/download for the phone?

Any other goodies for the phone I could download? I've seen some games like Doom for the phone which looks pretty good.. so if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

    Cheers

    You could try here :

    http://www.gamemobile.co.uk/nokia_n95_games.htm

Never used the service myself but they do have all the latest games. You could try getting an N95 emulator and trying a few of the games on that before putting them on your phone. Doom isn't bad but it is more a RPG for the phone instead of a flat out shooter.

Most of the mobile games now are done with Java hence why you are getting 3D, I managed to get hold of one of the Zelda games for my Ericsson K750i and it is really good.

Gamemobile do seem to be pretty good - I've bought quite a few things off them over the last few years. Even got a free one once for writing a review .

As far as recommendations go, Galaxy on Fire is brilliant - as far as phone games go it's probably my favourite. It's a very cut down Elite-a-like (probably more like Freelancer than Elite), and the graphics and gameplay are excellent.

I want to like System Rush, but I just can't get the hang of it. What on Earth am I meant to do? I just keep dying for no reason I can work out...

[EDIT: Also, I forgot - there's a version of ScummVM for Symbian as well, so you can play all the old Lucasarts etc. adventure games if you like that kind of thing. Look on scummvm.org for instructions etc if you're interested.]

Just looked over Gamemobile, since I'm thinking about/almost decided on getting an N95 and I was wondering how much software and games were available for it - not that many then? Most of the bigger games (Fifa 07 for example) aren't available?

I'd have thought there'd be tons of games for a Nokia phone. Is this because the N95 is relatively new? And since they're written in Java I thought they'd be platform independent anyway, but I guess it's to do with graphics chips etc.

Most of the N-Gage are being ported for the N-Series as we speak. Unofficially, many are already available if you know where to look. But generally, the third party software scene for the N95 and Symbian in general is terrible. All the development is going into Windows Mobile.

Hmm, that's what I feared - but I'm yet to have a great time with any Windows Mobile so I'm thinking of running away over to Symbian...

I think Gamemobile certify things specifically per model, so a lot of stuff there _will_ work on the N95 (to be honest, if it works on N73/N91, anything with S60v3 on, it should work fine on N95), but they haven't specifically tested it yet.

Allaboutsymbian is quite a good place to keep up with various apps that people bring out, although they definitely don't have the best selection of games.

I've had the original Orange SPV, the E200 and currently a T-mobile Vario. They were all slightly sluggish to start with and got worse. None of them synced properly. I've found them so clunky to get around and so rubbish at working with a PC that I've not used any of them for many of the functions I was looking forward to use.

That said, Win Mob does have some brilliant usability things like being able to T9 dial a contact and set speed dials to immediately open a text addressed to someone, stuff like that.

The occasional reboots and just general lack of response just don't help either...

All the devices you list their mat had very slow processors. Far slower than what really needed. I think you would be surprised if you used something with a bit more grunt.

BTW, the N95 is very sluggish.

Good riddance. Wish I'd done it about a year ago.

If anyone is interested in games that use the full potential of the graphics chip on the N95 you want to get:
    PGR
    Fifa 07 Advanced
    Tomb Raider Legend

Those are all I know of at the moment anyways.
