I know this is a well known problem, but is there a solution to get these working properly again.
Thanks in advance

sorry - joystick thingy
Only thing you can really do is send it away for repair, which if it is not under warranty could set you back around £40. Trouble is like you mentioned, it seems to be quite a common fault on all models that have the joystick.
May well be cheaper in the long run to buy a replacement
yep i have the same problem with mine real pia
only thing i can do is move thejoystick in a circle which sometimes moves it it and gets it going again
Permanently confused
It's amazing that Sony still persist with the joystick design which has caused such grief on all of their models. I had issues on my previous phones (k700/w800).
If it wasn't for the Sony's being such damn fine phones, I'd have gone for a different brand.
I might switch to Nokia for my next phone, except the spacebar is in the wrong place and it drives me up the wall when texting! Trivial I know.

I had that problem, cost to much to replace, so decided to get a new phone. One without the hassle of a silly joystick that keeps breaking.
Do the newer range of Sony's also have the joystick? My contracts up in a few months so just snooping around.

The worst mobile for sending text, i'm a speed texter and every now and then i keep getting 2-3 more letters in the text as the keys are not spaced enough, especially the 2 key.
I'm going to get the new N95 this christmas, i'll give my K750i to my worst enemy or a very young hoodie.![]()
Sony Ericsson are still doing handsets with the jog button but some of the newer ones dont have it. They have a circular direction button that has to be pressed in whatever direction you want to go.
The k750i joystick is a terrible design, works OK for about 6 months then starts messing about. Anybody I know with a 750 has had this problem. I find that if i blow air in around the joystick it is a temporary fix.
