    Five new Nokias

    http://www.nokia.com/A4517102

Nokia announced five new phones, as well as new music and gaming services and some accessories.

The N95 8GB was the one I wanted to have alook at as I'm currently contemplating purchasing an N95. No sign of a memory card slot on the new model means that the old one is for me, purely out of convenience.

    Re: Five new Nokias

The N95 does look better in back if you ask me.

I quite like the look of the N81 as well though. I wouldn't use the games, but looks like nice and chunky for that style of phone.

Decided i hate small phones now. So used to my P990 having some heft to it, that on the odd occation i need to use my K750 it feels like a toy.

    Re: Five new Nokias

I've got the press launch pack from yesterday's Nokia:Go Play event. And to be honest, I don't like the look of the N95 8GB black edition at all. The buttons on the front have got slightly smaller to accommodate the bigger screen, and they look awkward. And I just don't like the contrast between the black casing and the silver buttons. It seems a bit 80's.

Might be much nicer in the flesh though. And no, I'm not just saying I don't like it because I own the N95 in plum colour. Wish it did have the bigger battery and 8GB of course!

    Re: Five new Nokias

i think the n95 would be better if its thinner, i feel its way too bulky and by adding 8GB i wonder if it will get thicker

I think Nokia have gone downhill sometime after the 7250, and I used to be an avid Nokia fan

These days it's Samsung all the way!!

    Re: Five new Nokias

Nice, I have the old-version Nokia N95 on contract with the option to upgrade to that newer one... not sure if I'm going to but the one I have at the moment is the best phone I've ever used. (apart from for battery life)

Don't think I like the look of it in black though.

Yup, I'm with you there, mentioned this in the other N95 thread. I'd find 8GB quite limiting with the capabilities of the phone.

It does look quite sleek, but I think it just makes it look like justanotherphone. A lot of folk that look at mine seem to mention that it looks a lot nicer in-hand than it does in the pics. The coloured back section that wraps round looks quite swish to me. Well, as long as you don't have the silver/sand one that is !

    Re: Five new Nokias

Interstingly, i would have thought Samsung was larger than Nokia, but nooking at the figures on Yahoo! finance for Nokia and Samsung Electronics own website, Nokia is a larger company. $130billion vs about $108billion. Of course this doesn't take into account Samsungs heavy industies, chemicals or financial services sectors.

Although i still think Samsung would be more likely to buy Nokia than the other way round.

    Re: Five new Nokias

As above, I would have thought Samsung were many times the size of Nokia?? You sure you got that right as Samsung produce loads of electronic components etc...

    Re: Five new Nokias

Just check the links i included in the post. Remember that the link to Samsing Electronics Inc fanancial data is just for that company, not the other industries that the Samsung Group is involved in. Samsug figures are in KRW

Anyway, this is going a bit OT

EDIT: and this page suggests Nokia is worth $161billion USD - http://nokiacs.fcanalyst.com/fundamental.aspx
