    Re: orange upgrade

Depends what you want to use the phone for really and how important battery life is to you. I'd say the best phone on the market right now is the Nokia n95 but the battery life is terrible and it doesn't have a qwerty keyboard + stylus like the p990i. It's a shame your contract is up now as there are some good phones in the pipelines. The n95 is getting an upgrade in the form of the n95 8gb and Sony Ericsson are bring out the w960 which is essentially an upgrade to the w950.

In terms of tariff my knowledge is a lot more limited

battery life is a must, i hate having to charge a phone every day or so. i love features (i'm a tech junkie) but i rarely use them (apart from net access)

when are these phones due out (next month or so, or 6 months time??)

p990i is really really huge! are you sure its worth it? maybe look at htc touch which is coming out really soon. with normal use maybe it will last for 2days before the next charge. i hear that closer to end of sept/oct there will be loads of iphone competitive phones available

Not exactly sure when those phones are coming out but if I had to guess I'd say in the next 6 months.

I had a SE w810 which I loved to pieces and didn't want to change when I was due for an upgrade a couple of months ago. I was then offered a work phone and from the selection I picked a p990i simply because it did pretty much everything. The 2 things that I didn't like about it at the time were that it's huge and it's ugly. After using it for about a month I then picked up my old phone and it felt like a toy. I'm definitely glad that I didn't let the size of the p990i put me off.

Not sure what the package includes, but I was offered 400 anytime minutes for £15 quid and a free SE K800I.

    Re: orange upgrade

i dont like small phones to be honest, i keep thinking i have lost them in my pocket, plus i would rather have a large touchscreen than a smaller none touch screen. personally i love a phone that can go for a week with out a charge (minimal use) also the keyboard makes sending text messages quite nice for me.

i did try an orange spv M600, but i really didnt like it and sent it back. the version with the keyboard might suit me better, buti doubt it. whats the SE P1 like?

    Re: orange upgrade

A friend of mine has just upgraded to a SE P1 after having a SE P910. I'm hopefully going to see him in the next couple of days to see what it's like. I'll let you know what he thinks of it.
