Someone on their forums suggested giving Google Navigator a try. It looks to add a perspective view and trun by turn instructions to the data pulled from google. if it works well, then the $59 purchase price is a hell of a lot better than the £60+ TomTom charge for a set of maps. You can also download map data and store it until needed (so you can download on wifi at home instead of incuring data charges when on the move)
