Is it possible to have two numbers on one sim card?

Here's my situation, I've got an Orange contract that I use as my personal line. I've also got another Orange number provided by work that I use as my business line.

Both numbers are on seperate sim cards and it means I have to keep changing the sim card in my phone (currently a Nokia N80).

Obviously, the simple sollution would be to get two phones, but I don't want the nuisance of carrying two handsets around.

Does anybody know if it's possible, with Orange, to have both the numbers on one sim card and use them as line 1 and line 2?

If not, are there any other sollutions I could look at?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't know the best solution, but there is always dual sim card adapter thingys
Personally I don't like the idea of them though...

Re: Is it possible to have two numbers on one sim card?

Two numbers on one SIM is part of the GSM spec, so it is possible.

Whether Orange support this or not is another thing.

I remember the option for it was quite promenant on my first phone, an Ericsson GA628, but this was back when handsets were expensive. I think people just use two phones now.

EDIT: looks like you can: Orange - Line 2

Oh, and you can in Cameroon too

My father in law has a phone with space for two SIM cards. Would that be any use, or do you definately need two numbers on one SIM?

I used to do this for exactly the same reason, Parm. Line 1 for primary number, Line 2 for work. However, Orange are the only people I know of who support Line 2 and it's pretty flawed. You can only have a combined bill (so no charging the work part to your corporate card and the personal numberto your bank account), and you can't get roaming on Line 2 - so as soon as you go abroad
In the end I just surrendered to the phone plague. Then I got a blackberry and for a while it was really silly until O2 managed to combine my work phone number with the blackberry. Now I'm lucky enough to only need a personal phone, blackberry, laptop and iPod when travelling

Says on the Orange website "As well as separate numbers you'll get separate bills". So looks like this could be the answer

When I had Line 2 I got two separate bills, but they were printed as part of the same statement and were billed as part of the same account. So it was a faff for me since I had to put it through as a cash expense rather than get it paid directly, but sounds like it's fine for you. The Line 2 service itself works really well, apart from the roaming. I always used to like the way they filled in the spools on the 'tape' icon to tell you which line you had voicemail on.

Or youcould get a dual SIM phone, like these:
Verzio launches two dual-SIM handsets, one with 3G - Engadget Mobile

There are quite a number of these available in asia. I've also seen a fake Nokia N99i that had dual SIM slots. Interesting device.
