The eldest wants to buy herself a Samsung J600, what're your thoughts on it?

The phone is pretty simple to use and also looks cool .. Im not impressed with the slider form factor but its a personal preference.. Also users are complaining for poor performance of the camera and the keypad.

Avoid the phone if you can ..

Its just an updated version of the U600 released last year. Few gripes with Samsung, battery life on every Samsung I have owned is terrible. Wife has the F700 and the charge lasts about a half day if she uses the MP3 player for about 45 mins from a full charge.

Secondly, not being able to put on custom message alert tones, you have to use what is actually on the phone. Also on the F700 you can't assign an MP3 to be the ringtone. Go figure!

Personally I would wait for the new Samsung F490, thinner than the F700 (11 mm thick) and it also has a 5MP camera on it. Looks very similar to the F700 and has the same full touch interface but without the qwerty keypad. Vodafone are getting a silver version of it and what I have seen so far looks amazing and quite similar to a certain Apple device!
