Re: What phone you thinking of next?

I stayed with my current phone a Samsung D900, I really like it.

I was on a monthly contract with Carphone Warehouse/02 for £30.00 a month for 200 minutes/200 texts and now I'm with Virgin, Sim card only for £20.00 a month for 300 minutes/300 texts. Good reception too.

And it's just a one month contract so if I want to upgrade to a 12 or 18 month contract and get a new phone at any time, I can do.

My contract ran out with Carphone Warehouse/02 on December 8th but thanks to their sly and devious ways it doesn't actually run out til February 18th. It's a long story but I would not recommend Carphone Warehouse, bunch of Charlatans.

Nothing against 02 per se, they seem good, it's just that I couldn't get reception in my own home, and I'm quite close to the 02 dome as well....

I did manage to get a BAC code from CW/02 though, probably because I sent them a letter by registered mail, and I'm now using Virgin with my old number.

Before that I was with Orange for ten years, no complaints really, good nationwide reception, I just didn't like their Animal plans and they also messed my daughter about rotten. So Orange had to go.

Thanks, much appreciated; I'm actually trying to offer people a real choice as to whether they want a smartphone or a PDA, slider, candybar, whatever. I reckon one of the advantages of Windows Mobile is simply the huge range of devices available (unlike either of the fruit-based alternatives ), so make that a selling point with users (hence the HTC S730 that I've got coming for one bloke who's sold on anything that looks a BIT like his Nokia 6310...). Mind you, I really like the look of the Samsung i620, smartphone-wise.

I like the new Nokia E51. Been watching it come on market and for any early signs of problems.. but none yet. All good reviews.

Right size. Packing a lot of goodness and less of the gimicks for those of us who don't want it.

Since it was announced my choice would currently be the Xperia X1, based on the released spec. Otherwise it would have been the Xda Orbit II.

Yeah, I'm kind of feeling that way about it at least the delay means I can save up enough to get it off contract once it's out!

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

Got a k800i atm, probably a P1i, TytnII or something similar.

Either that or go for something really small/light, as I don't use half the features of the K800i.

The K800i is just a great little phone tbh. My mrs uses my old one, takes a great picture too.

you wouldn't believe how often i use the LED's on the K750 as a torch though. damn useful! so would be nice for future phone to have that rather than a xenon bulb that just flashes

Re: What phone you thinking of next?

Further to my previous post, I'm really leaning to the idea of something like the 8800 Sirocco, or similar. I honestly don't use that many of the features on my phone, and it seems to get bigger/bulkier each year. k700i, k750i, k800i.

Sticking with SE would be good, but they don't seem to do that many form over function phones, in contrast with the likes of LG (Prada) etc.

Looking at N82 or K850i here, altho I am tempted to just get something basic like the K800i instead...
