    O2 XDA Orbit 2 Opinions?

    Hello

As a current user of the original Orbit I must say the new version looks great. Two main drawbacks of the Orbit 1 would have to be the slow processor and battery life. Looking at the specs for the 2nd version, the cpu is a lot better.

Anybody want to share their experiences so far? Battery life improved?

Orbit 2's basically a heavily O2-ised HTC Touch Cruise; we just gave one of those to a director at work (who incidentally is pretty non-techie), and he's thrilled to bits with it. I think with all of the Qualcomm MSM7200 based devices, you have to get used to charging every day, so that's the Kaiser (TyTN II/XDA Stellar), Touch Cruise, Touch Dual and S730. Worth it, IMO, since the functionality is superb.

my orbit 1 use to last for about 4 days with moderate wifi and gps usage. the new one i had through work for a couple days was - well - ok. i would'nt go out of my way for it. prefer the xda stellar over the orbit 2.

I charge mine every other day, on average. I use a lot of 3G (got the 'unlimited' data bundle) but hardly any wifi/GPS. GPS will really eat through the battery, but you get a car power adaptor included in the box.

TBH I don't mind plugging my phone in each night. It's when it lasts for several days that I don't notice it running down and run out.
At least if it has to plug in every night I remember.

Re: O2 XDA Orbit 2 Opinions?

Yes the gps will use battery, however its the wifi connection which has the capability of draining a full battery in a matter of hours! Even in battery mode setting the power drain is so high on my original Orbit, can't speak for the 2nd version.

BTW, I recommend battery status a very good today plugin for all you HTC users.
