Keep number going from PAYG to contract?

I know you can keep your number when switching contracts, but I'm currently on PAYG and am thinking about getting a contract phone, but I don't want the hassle of changing my phone number.

Anyone know if it's the same process for switching my phone number from a PAYG phone?

I'd assume you can if you ring up and ask nicely

yes you can, you have to phone up your payg customer serivice and ask for your PAC code. Then give this to the people doing your new contract and your number will transfer over

Re: Keep number going from PAYG to contract?

    Yes you can!!!
Firstly, you need to register your PAYG sim card with your network provider (don't tell them you are plan to leave).
Secondly, after registrition phone them up again and ask for PAC code (i.e. the code for transfering your number).
Finally, bring you PAC to any new network when taking a contract (with in 30 days, or the code will expired after 30 days).
    Sorted!!!

Not always. There are lots of things that govern whether you can or not. Don't assume that you can because its not certain and while you lot might have experience of it, there are definitely circumstances that would prevent it happening.
