    iPhone or Blackberry Storm

    Hi all,

I was wondering if you would be able to help me decide on what new phone to get:

I can get a new contract on 13th November but i just cant decide between these two lovely phones - can you make a suggestion at all?

    Thank you in advance!

    regards,

    Re: iPhone or Blackberry Storm

It really depends what you're using it for... I have an iphone, and as a non-business use phone, it's great. If I were relying on it for volumes of text entry, the keyboard would still annoy me. As it probably would on the storm.

For keyboardless use, the iphone would be difficult to beat IMHO, but then again I haven't played with a storm . If you need to enter lots of data, one of the existing blackberries would get my vote

The blackberry wins hands down as a business phone, liking what I see thus far. But if you like your music and gadgets, then the iPhone.

    Re: iPhone or Blackberry Storm

I have an iPhone and I don't think it lives up to all the hype.

There's a lack of certain options which are annoying (cannot forward texts, turn off predictive text, cannot record video unless you use 3rd party application)

    Re: iPhone or Blackberry Storm

I'm in the same boat, am due for an upgrade in Dec and after seeing the advert for the Storm, I can't decide.

I'm leaning more towards the iPhone for the reasons 0iD mentioned, music, gadgets etc.

The niggles (such as copy 'n paste, video recording etc) could (in my mind) be fixed with firmware/software updates, so it could be a matter of time when Apple release updates to enable these features, rather than build another iPhone just to have the features (the camera that is currently in the iPhone is capable of recording video as 3rd part apps show).

There's a couple of people at my work with iPhones, and they feel so nice to hold and use. The Storm's UI, imo, doesnt look as fluid and pleasant to the eye as the iPhone does.

I registered just to post this hehe

Due for a new contract at work and were looking at both, but the Iphone means moving to O2 and were very happy with Vodafone, going to see if we can get one to play with before we buy 5 of them...

    Re: iPhone or Blackberry Storm

Apparently, my works Vodafone Blackberry is due a upgrade soon, im not to fussed about having the latest and greatest (in the old days of owning a personal mobile - i always went for basic model) but when work said we would be getting the storm in a month or so, i decided to hold out on upgrade until then

Has to say looks good for both work and play.

    Re: iPhone or Blackberry Storm

Personally I'd go for the Blackberry Bold. The keyboard's nice and it has wifi which I find pretty useful on my Nokia E71.

I'd get the Blackberry (I would love one - and no wheel!!)

Either that or the Xperia X1 - which looks amazing - I played with one yesterday

    Re: iPhone or Blackberry Storm

Well the wireless is the one thing I use a lot on my N95, so yesterday I had a play with a Blackberry Bold and I think that will be my next phone on my upgrade.

Just got an X1 and it's a great phone. Either that or you could look at the Touch HD which is has just been released and should be with the networks fairly soon I would imagine. Depends whether you want a Windows Mobile phone though.

For work/email/internet BB is clearly a winner!

    For personal/fun get iPhone.

I think that any user that intends to buy a windows mobile phone needs to be initially patient.
I love mine (Touch Pro) but I can see it easily irritating your average mlobile phone user.
