    Samsung Omnia (T-Mobile)

    Gone through 2 Omnia's in 2 days!

Both of them had faulty touch screens, problems included

    1. couldn't align touch screen,
    2. took upto 45mins to enter my pin once I switched on the phone.
    3. phone was un responsive.

I can go on listing them.

Anyone had similar problems on a T-mobile branded omnia, or is it just me.

    Thanks

I can help with alinging the touch screen. Just make sure you touch the stylus EXACTLY in the centre of the cross. Should be able to do it in a oner. Unresponsive??? Change all that in your settings!! ATM mine is too damn responsive spins like a bloody top at times. Especially with theshell proggie I have in it.

    Re: Samsung Omnia (T-Mobile)

I sent mine back to orange today.

I had problems copying my pohone book to it initially then trying to use the phone go annoying.

THere where a load of little problems that did my nut in like screen changing orientation randomly and The screen locking dfuring phone calls which got really annoying when trying to ring the bank or use a tone phone system.

Im gonna get the sony ericsson c905 instead

Part of the reason why I haven't gone for the Omnia so far - it looked like the phone to get but when I tried it out the touch screen wasn't great and GUI not as intuitive as the Iphone. However the former has problems too, which we are all aware of, so been looking at the new LG KC910 (8megapixel camera jobby) a friend has one and he rates it quite highly.

    Well that was informative.

I'd heard that Samsung had recalled a load of Omnias. Anybody know if there's any truth in that? My wife liked the look of them but tbh if it's not going to be reliable then we'll stick with HTC.

I had the choice of some HTC phones (rebranded as XDA) or the samsung tocco/omnia as part of my next upgrade but didn't really like the tocco, like the look of some HTC ones, and they all run windows mobile 6.1 IIRC so software will be the same.

    Re: Samsung Omnia (T-Mobile)

Just got the Omnia from Verizon n had the same prob. I couldnt activate my phone because it was stuck at the Aling Screen page at the very beginning. W/my stylus I tried soft taps n hard taps, but nothing. I called Verizon and the tech couldn't figure it out either. He had me take it back to the Verizon store as a faulty unit for an over the counter replacement. The lady at Verizon turned it on n held that stylus right over the cross hairs n clicked on that screen so hard that I thought she had damaged it for good. But to my surprise, IT WORKED!!! She gave it back to me and I immediately analyzed it for about 5 min n there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I've had it for 2 days now n everything works great. Hope it helps.
