iPhone SIM only tariff?

Good evening people,

Just a quick question, is there such a thing as a SIM only tariff for the iPhone? Reason is, my dad's given me a new one from work that doesn't have a card in it already and I'd quite like to use it! I'd prefer it to not be a PAYG one...

Can you have the normal SIM only tariff and just choose the unlimited web option as the bonus extra?

Yeah, that should work fine.

Getting an iPhone from O2 means a special tarrif because of the "unique" way Apple and O2 finance the cost of the iPhone (it's different from a nromal handset apparently). But the actual SIM and netwrok connection are the same as a standard phone.

The pay monthly iphone sim is "uniquely" configured (and billed), Visual voice mail won't work with a normal SIM, but this doesn't work on PAYG either (may be other things don't work either). There might be something in the T&C about putting a normal sim in an iphone, O2 will know you are using an iphone with a normal SIM but I'm not sure what they would do if anything - I've never heard about anyone unlocking the 2G iphone and using a normal O2 sim having a issue.

Is there anything else other Visual voice mail? From recollection all the other "reasons" for not using a iphone sim centred around how much data would cost.
