For me the touchscreen seems to be fine. Yes it was a bit slow, but now its been hacked with a clean NYX and TM3.2, tis alot faster, and as smooth as a babies bottom (thanks alot technogeek for the link ) Battery life on mine doesnt seem to be too bad either. Its dreadful if i charge over USB though . . .

How good is the camera? Im thinking of buying a viewty and a camera is important, needs to be good as i will be using instead of a digital camera.

Any real downsides to the phone?.

Camera is a 5Mp, it also supports DIVX playback. Only real downside is the battery is quite poor, needs charging virtually daily.

o2 have them for £97 and you have to buy a £10 top up with it so £107 total, steal at that price!

Re: To buy or not to buy? LG Viewty

Ive just been told sainsbury had it for £50, going there tomorrow to see if they still sellling them. I dont think battery is to bad because i would have it connected to my pc(charging) most of the time, does it last atleast a day on standby? Only do a few hours of calls a week so its nothing major.

    Cheers.

Yeah its fine on standby. What drains the battery is the big screen on it, however when not in use it goes into power saving mode. As long as you set it to that in the settings you will get longer out of the battery.

get yourself to Phones 4 U, i seen them advertised in the window today on o2 for £80 with £10 airtime
£90 is unbeatable for a touchscreen phone of this quality!

i'm actually tempted if i can find the money..
came home slightly drunk the other night and broke a big mirror so i've got to replace that first

Re: To buy or not to buy? LG Viewty

On standby the battery will last me about 3 days, constant use about 1 day with screen at full brightness on a 1000mah battery.
The camera is excellent the pictures still look good on the computers screen, which is still uncommon for phone cameras. Even has manual focusing . Downside to the phone camera, no optical zoom. But for general purpose pointing and shooting, the phone is awesome just make sure you've got a micro SD for it
