Looking to get a new phone, and wondered what you guys thought of it. Heard battery life is crud
£146 though is pretty tempting for what features it has Are there any better alternatives to it?

I have an LG Viewty purple, I love mine to bits but your right the battery life is a tad disappointing.
Please do not use 02 with it though as they do not support many of the handy features like gmail.
My favourite bit about the phone is the keyboard and the writing pad that is so easy and handy to use.

Error exists between Keyboard & Chair replace User and press Any Key!
.... Where's the Any Key???
I also suggest getting a higher capacity battery form ebay cheap, it does help.
yeah sorry for misleading you with the keyboard, the touch feature is very responsive too.
I would plan on buying the higher capacity battery anyway. How long do these last you in the phone compared to the standard battery?
If I do not use it too much to brows the web it can last up to 4 days.
If I brows the web and spend a lot of time chatting on it, about two days.
But this is what you would exspect from a demanding phone like the Viewty.
you might like to visit the Viewty forum before you decide to get one.. http://www.mygreatphone.com/forum/lg-ku990/

It depend on you what features you are looking for? I like sim free touchscreen viewty.
I just bought one of these for my mum (birthday/christmas present), got it from Tesco for £114 (£25 off if your buying a certain amount of food or something). She's on tesco mobile already. I went for a viewty because I think it would be easier for her to use over the cheapo phones my dad keeps getting her that seem to be overly complicated. You can write text messages with an on screen keyboard with a little stylus, perfect for her. Nice large clear display to.
My sister already has one, nice phone... she seems very happy with it, sony ericsson man myself.

Ok I am sorely tempted now. Slight downside, no wifi
Before I let the cash go, are there any alternatives to this phone (between £100 and £200) that have wifi available on PAYG?
A mate of mine has one and they are awful.
Good camera and thats it. The touchpad is poor and the messaging is almost useless.

Yup, I got mine free on a contract.. it lasted 3 weeks before I bought an iPhone and unlocked it..
Good idea, terrible implementation, slow, clumsy, buggy interface - the camera was decent at the time, but easily superseded now by almost everyone else..
