I was trying to flash a new USPL... It happened because I wasn't concentrating (was getting PC ready for a reformat and windows reinstall) and I didn't read the instructions

What flash chip is it internally?

Worst case situation - hook it up to an external programmer and flash away. Of course, you then must know someone with one

    Flashing In cuircuit?!

Enless they made provisions for that i wouldn't recomend it, as there will be some Z on the interface lines, even when everything else is powered down.

Odd that it bricked during the rainbow mode...

Which as I said, depends on the flash chip type.
Most common flash chips are not particularity difficult to re-flash (although can be painfully slow depending on method), the biggest issue comes with it's package type and / or how easily the flashing inputs on the chip are.

It's just food for thought if it really is dead.

I'm no stranger to this sort of thing but totally out of the winmo scene currently, XDA-dev can be a bit OTT on the info when I just want to find a nice pretty ROM to play with

Love that HD vid on youtube, played with that interface but the bigger screen & faster device makes a big difference to the experience it seems.
