Damn you xda developers.
How can you unbrick a phone that doesn't do anything?
I was able to get to the rainbow screen, so I tried a "unbrick" technique (using my original rom backup) mentioned on there and now it doesn't even power on at all

hope you got the phone insured
Against it being smashed does though..#ahem#
Anyway, no help over on xda-dev? Some helpful people over there.
Is there a combination of keys to mash that gets it into an emergency recovery mode (ie will allow connection to computer and reflash)?
I know my lg ku990 has that, but dont know about the htc touch.
At least there is one good thing to come out of this...I was tempted to flash my orbit 2 but there's no way I will be now!
Envirophone test don't they?
I've flashed my Kaiser a few times now without incident. Going to flash again sometime this week too
Out of interest, which ROM was it SiM? Any idea why it happened?
I've always been tempted but never found anything that amazing that makes me want to. I have 'slide to unlock' and Tempus clock/weather thingy so what would make me want to flash then guys?
if you have to ask then i guess its not for you :/
if its working fine for you as it is just leave it

Well to start with I wanted shot of all the t-mobile restrictions and a much faster and more responsive camera on my Kaiser. Dutty's ROMs did this, but then I went with a Hyperdragon ROM a few months back for all the software of the new Diamond series.
Looking at the PDACornerUltimate ROM, as I like the black and his replacement icons.
id still try the insurance route & just plead ignorance. Tell them you tried to upatde your phone or something. If the folks at XDA cant sort it, i doubt your phone insurance company can!
I cracked the screen on my Kaiser & sent it off to the insurance company, they couldnt find instructions/the parts to fix it (because it isnt a common phone) so just sent me a check for £480 (take off 50quid for the exces) to get myself a new one. End result, 2nd hand/next to new kaiser for £100 and my ski holdiay more or less paid for!
