I has not been discontined, but it is very expensive, so you will probably struggle to find one cheap or free on contract.
You can buy one SIM free from the Nokia online store (and probably from other places for slightly less).
I work for Nokia BTW.
Replying in public to a PM I got:
I don't know for certain where the 8800 Arte is made, but it is most likely Finland, as Nokia has a number of factories there including a large one in Salo where a lot of high end stuff is made. There are also a number of other factories around the world including one in China, so it is not impossible that a legit 8800 Arte would be made in Chine. I am fairly sure that there is not a Nokia factory in Korea so any phone made there is probably a fake. All the different international versions of the phone would be made in the same factory, the only difference between versions will be the software languages and some features, the letters on the keymat, and possibly a Chinese version without 3G.Originally Posted by inonefly
As for how in general to tell if a phone is a fake, can't suggest much, and I suspect that if you asked Nokia officially they would not help you either as they don't like people buying their phones from eBay.
One you have it in your hands you could check if the battery is genuine by looking a the hologram and feeding the serial number into the online checker for fake batteries. You could also get the IMEI number (*#06#) and the software version number (*#0000#) and checking if they match up with a genuine phones.
thanks for the info, exactly what i wanted to know![]()
