Apart from quidco, anyone know any deals going around?

Unlikely I know, but worth a shot

Consistent rumours are that O2 are going to drop the 16gig phone price to free on the £35 & £45/mo contracts very soon..

Re: Any way to get the iPhone a bit cheaper?

sorry, not checked back here for a while. I just rang up o2 and asked for a free refurbished 8gb iPhone. You can choose any contract from the £25 one upwards (not worth going for the £45 one as it come with a free iphone anyway).

I had to wait a few days for them to come into stock, but they seem to get them quite regularly. i could reserve one, they just told me when they were due and i rang up that afternoon. Mine came last week - absolutely brand new as much as i could tell. all sealed up and pretty. Same 1 year contract as paid ones.

i had heard rumours of a new iphone coming later in the year so i didnt want to pay and then find there was a new one out. This way i save the money i would have paid and can use it to upgrade if one appears later.

they dont advertise the refurbished ones, as i guess everyone would go for them! just ring up sales. I went for the £35 contact as it seems the best deal. They also had 16gb ones for £100, but i dont think thats such a good deal.

I know there's always rumours of new ones them coming down in price, but a free refurbished one now is the best way to go i think.

edit: I rang them on 0870 600 3009 if that helps

Re: Any way to get the iPhone a bit cheaper?

it was just the normal o2 shop number, i think i went to the upgrade department as i was already with O2 but it makes no difference to the offer.

if they dont have any in stock they should be able to tell you when they are expecting them as they did with me.

I just spoke to someone at O2, she said that they only do the refurbed iphones as an upgrade thing and not for new customers. Oh well
