The E71 is sweet, best of all is a S60 OS... lots of programs and stuff

Another thing to remember about the Blackberry is that you have to pay for the Blackberry email if you are wanting to use email on it using a push service. If its just web based mail though you can get the unlimited data addon and go to the relevant sites.

Blackberry software is really easy to use, Roxio is included in the suite for transferring MP3 and converting your vid files to the format the phone supports and also transferring them over. It has a 3.2 camera and some of the shots you can get look really good as it has a decent flash also. I mainly use mine for email and media and it works a charm.

Nokia E71 is also a decent phone but I personally feel it looks and feels a little cheap. I would suggest going into a store and get your hands on both devices and have a play around wth them before making a decision.
I want to stomp my foot down and disagree about this line "Nokia E71 is also a decent phone but I personally feel it looks and feels a little cheap." DUDE.... are you serious!? The e71 comes with steel casing?! It is thin, it is gorgeous! Don't get me wrong, I love BlackBerry's OS 10x more than Nokia's, but I must say that Nokia outdid BlackBerry on the design of the Curve or Bold when it comes to the e71. I'm not saying the rest of Nokia phones are studs, but this one truely is a Stallion.

But I don't want to trash talk anyone... LOL... Sorry if I gave that intention. As Ferral said, the best way is to go to the store and test out both phones. I personally was choosing between the BlackBerry Bold and the Nokia e71. Oh dude ONE IMPORTANT THING, the blackberry Curve does not have 3G connectivity. Remember that! Did you already make your choice on the phone yet?

I have to a agree that I the Nokia E71 is one of the nicest phonest I've used, and it feels very solid with the steel casing. This is confirmed by most of the reviews that I've read regarding the E71.

3G for me would be a bit of a deal breaker as I now my phone for internet alot on the move, (for BBC news and engaget mainly) but is also handy for googlemaps or checking train times.

AHA! I further my point. I rest my case your honor! HAHahahaha.

No, but you're right, you should take your time and figure out which phone you like best. And to be honest i love the OS for BlackBerry's new phones. I think it's so much better than the Symbian (Nokia's OS), which in my opinion looks very out of date, in comparison with BlackBerry's, Sony's, or Apple's. If BlackBerry improved on their exterior looks, so that the phone would not look like a 3 year olds toy, and made it thinner, I'd definately pick that over the e71, but for now, it's not, lol.

You can have exchange support (and push) on the E71 as well, just use the free Mail for Exchange application from Nokia. Also look at the Nokia messaging application which I use on my N95 with my gmail account.

I think the screen on the blackberry is ace, but everything else would make me go E71.

    I second that.

And yes, I am aware about the free Mail for Exchange application for Nokia, but yeah the UI [user interface] for blackberry

I just wish you could litterally have the best of both worlds!!!

Re: Nokia E71 or Curve 8900

I think the new blackberry's look very nice (curve & bold) but there are still some aspects of it which look dated when you get into it. It's a shamre really as they are fab devices.

Nokia S60 might not be th emost up to date or intuative O/S either of course, but there are an awful lot of apps and devs out there for it.

Actually I'm leaning towards iphone now anyway! Still have a few months to go, but I reckon the new iphone that we'll be seeing very soon might well be my next device.

Re: Nokia E71 or Curve 8900

I totally agree with you on this one. I believe that I may revert back to the iPhone if the 3rd Gen. iphone actually turns out to be awesome! Much like when the 2nd gen (3G) came out, I wanted it right away, and did end up getting it. I wish apple would make the battery removable, then that would lean me and so many others closer to buy the phone!

Re: Nokia E71 or Curve 8900

I had the E71 on 3 as my upgrade and moved to the £20 tarriff saving me about £10 a month.

The phone feels really solid and a good weight in your hand.

Shiny back looks great but does pick up fingerprints easily though

Re: Nokia E71 or Curve 8900

I totally agree with everything you said. Great solid phone! feels nice, and everytime someone sees you using it they think its a blackberry and they are so curious which one it is because it looks so much better than a blackberry hahahha!

Fingerprint doesn't really bother me, because when I had the Black iphone 3g it was worse! and omg when you get scratches on the iPhone's plastic back, it looks SOOOOO ugly... At least on the e71 you can't see the scratches with the little grids hahah.

I must say nokia did a great job with this phone. It feels valuable. I love blackberry's UI so much better though. Blackberry's are nice and all but design wise they lose to the e71 and it feels too plasticey, almost like a 5 year olds toy phone, kind of bulky too...
