You can add widgets, but i don't know where you get them from. I presume you add them from inside the handset itself.

It's not a smartphone, so I doubt there will be "apps" for it.

Check out the above site, they provide custom firmwares so they might also have some apps.

In regard to an app store, I've been hearing rumours that LG are planning to open one soon in the next couple of months. I hope they do, thats the only thing that the arena is really missing.

    Re: LG Arena

Thanks a lot for the link shadowmaster, so far I've managed to get the slide unlock and an iphone-esque theme for the phone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R21QWvIf7Mc), however i don't think there are any actual apps for it atm.

This is seems to be a common problem with the arena. LG in all their wisdom, decided that if someone wants to play a divx file they have to convert it again through the divx mobile conversion software that they provide. Not only is that a hassle, its downs the res to 320*240. However people have been able to play some divx/mpeg4 files without conversion but its not always guaranteed and I still have yet to work out why the conversion is needed. Anyhow read the following post I made in another forum, it should help.

IIRC it converts video to a resolution of 320*240 which is a bit lame considering the phone has a display res of 800*480. However I have found that my Xilisoft HD converter does the job well if I use the settings below. So far these settings work 100% all of the time and the quality is pretty good.

I'm still trying to find better quality settings, and hopefully when I do I'll post them back up here.

    Re: LG Arena

hello thank you for your reply
my renoir can play any divx/xvid out of the box that i throw at it however it has a lower screen bit rate so im thinking some programs for windows mobiles dont work on certain moblies like the onima due to its screen res or size forget now which
could this be a case with the arena also i now get a drm error
i wonder could we use all the files from he renoirs f/w to put on the arena as there both divx mobiles might work and have better playback if any
i like this phone but no real divx/xvid playback then it goes back lol
