I would love to try the Palm Pre when it comes to the UK hopefully on schedule in October. My existing phone is fairly new (less than a year) so I probably won't buy, but it's nice to have a feel of where the technology is going. In particular I have hopes for the QWERTY keyboard on the Pre, it addresses a gripe many have about touchscreen phones.
However, I do see a potential drawback if it is too reliant on an always on data connection. Or if it is too closely tied to one network's functionality
I'm looking at this with interest aswell.
My current phone (K850i) has a dodgy touchscreen bar which controls the main functions and it keeps letting me down. My 18 month contract runs out in december aswell so i'll pick this up probably.
Though i'll ask to be put on the lowest tariff plan for the K850i so that i'm not paying the full amount of two contracts if i get it in October.
Wow, still no news on this since rumours started circulating that it might be released at the end of October.
I need news!
Yuk!! phone looks ugly
I still think the Pre looks nice but there seemed to be far more benefits to an android based phone, primarily the app-store and customisation options available, hence why I got a HTC Hero.
