    Getting out of a contract!

Ok i have a BB storm which isn't a bad phone to be perfectly honest with you.

However would poor battery life and bad phone signal be grounds to terminate your contract,

As when they first advertised the phone, they stated 15hr talk time, (yeah what ever)

I would be lucky to get 1hr its that bad, i cant get 15hrs on standby never mind talk time,

would it be classed as not fit for purpose ?

    Any Thoughts

Tried getting a new battery, or tried seeing if you have open apps sucking battery? I would say learn how to look after phone batteries tbh, that will give you hours more charge.

Contract is 18 months and im 7 months through it, we have been promised firmware updates to fix the problem for the 7 months i have had the phone, still no fix

Tbh the contract i would keep, im just want a phone that will last me the day, too much to ask?

Might just be worth selling the dam phone and buying a new one.

Re: Getting out of a contract!

I had this problem with my G1 until I learnt how to improve the life. Seriously a few things here and there have almost tripled my batterly life. Look up some battery extending tricks for your phone.

Your contract is for the service, not the 'phone - however if the phone is faulty/not performing as you expect, talk to the service provider about getting it changed. Who is the contract with?

Re: Getting out of a contract!

    @ Steve

Have you tried turning off the GPS its always on by default? Heres the link that i found that may be of help.

    http://www.storm-reviews.co.uk/black...ckberry-storm/

Alternatively you could always threaten to give the phone a dam! good thrashing i find this worked for my nokia 6300, the battery life has always been a mare! A good old Rooney kick at the back door did the trick for me.. oh and i always charged ten colors out of it even when the battery indicator shows full i think its a misconception that we need to drain then charge but thats just my opinion...

    Regards

    Victor

Re: Getting out of a contract!

I would say that the contract is for the talk time and so on, so if you ring up and complain that the phone was not as advertised, and want a replacement you should be able to make some progress.

A bit of fury and "so and so never has this trouble with Orange" can sometimes go a long way with a mobile phone firm

Do you have insurance for you BB? I know with mine I can cancel my contract after 9 months I think as I am on an 18month contract. Just pay the excess.

Re: Getting out of a contract!

If you have a look on Vodafone's forums there is a big thread on the Storm and I think people were trying to get out of their contract or swap the phone. Might be a good starting point to getting your issue resolved. I think Vodafone know people are unhappy with the Storm.

If the original complaint was raised in the first month but you was constantly fobbed off, i would of thought that would be a case for getting an alternative phone at least... I would doubt very much they would let you cancel the contract however.
