if u want a 3gs the cheapest way to get it is buy it on pay as you go...... then get 1 of o2's simplicity sims...

for £20 u get 600mins 1200txt and free internet....

pay as you go 16g 3gs £440 + 18*£20 = £800
pay monthly 16g 3gs £185 - £60 + 18*£35 = £755

I guess with the pay as you go you can stop and ebay it whenever you want

Hmm so it's on O2 pay as you go? I wouldn't want to use their sims though - I have T-mobile solo 35 - I'd have to still get it unlocked i reckon...

Also, unlike most of the HTCs, this phone has... a normal headphone socket.

Don't you need an especially small head phone plug for it to work on an iPhone? So it's not exactly a normal socket. I don't think my Sure's would plug into an iPhone.

Anyway, swings and roundabouts. I don't need anything special to connect my HTC to a PC, just a mini USB cable and drivers build into Windows.... or linux or MacOS (when in USB mass storage mode at least).

yea and u can change ur contract at anytime if a better deal comes along... also that was just an example.... if u knw ur not going to use 600mins get a cheaper tariff!!!

the pay as you go one comes with a 02 sim....

you get free internet with the pay as you go as well cuz its a iphone!

once i can use tmobile i'll get a pay as you go model....

You can't jailbreak the 3GS yet, ( http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=2311 ) only 2G / 3G running FW 3.0 down. But keep checking this site, which will let you know once you can.

Nope, that was only the 1st gen iPhone. The new ones take all standard 3.5mm headphones.

thanks for that link... i just watched the tutorial how to jail break a 2g iphone... on a mac (i own both)
looks easy as pie... look forward got the 3gs to be unlocked then i'll get my self down carphonewarehouse...

My wife and I both got one. She missed the 3G due to contract timings so really wanted this one. The 3GS came out just as our previous contracts came to an end so it worked out well. I mainly got it for the "new toy" factor. The access to webmail has been handy since they block WiFi and webmail at my current client site. Nice upgrade over my old phone (Sony Ericsson W910i) so can't complain.

So no, i shall not be getting a 3G "Super Duper" S. And on that point, im actually swapping my iphone for a HTC touch pro 2.

You CAN jailbreak 3.0 on windows for both 2g and 3g. Alot of people saying you cant because quickpwn havent released anything. Use redsn0w it's far quicker.
