    Phone Data Recovery?

Anyone had any job with phone data recovery?

Like a total idiot i got my phone rather wet (i was in the kitcar, it started raining, and the phone fell into the passenger seat which at the time was full of water) and having whiped the battery out and dried it which has saved me a few times it now wont turn on.

I have a backup of quite a lot of the numbers using nokia pc suite, but looking now, the last update was late 2007 which is longer ago than i really thought it was. Arrrgg.

Phones a 6230i and was due for replacment (inc full backup) at the end of the month.

If you were storing the numbers in the sim card, you might be able to get them back in a SIM card reader (or another phone) Igf they werte in the phone, yes, in theory you could, but in practice it is likely to be impossible without specialist equipment.

You didn't say how long ago it happened - if you leave the phone in a warm place to properly dry out you may get it to switch on again and then recover the data.

    Numbers where on the phone.
    - I had the sim card full, which was a second back up to the computer copy but they dont all fit by half.

So the down side is there on the phones mem, the good news is i only lost the last few montsh numbers. And a few saves text messages and reminders. The most annoying bit being i dont exactly know what text messages/reminders/to-do's i had or have lost!

Happened the day before i posted, phones been dring the last week while ive been away, but still nothing.

If you are on O2 (Contract or Pay and Go) you could try bluebook. Mind you it all depends if the phone gets recognised by the PC when connected.

Basically its a free service that lets you backup the phones entire memory online, this includes sms, contacts and photos.

Yeah i might have a look at using that now!
    - In the past ive backed up onto the pc using a datacable, but not recently (i thought it was about 6months ago, turns out i last did it in 2007) so that hasnt really been usefull this time.
