Got a question for Hero owners: how well does it work with Hotmail? Also, how well does the e-mail work if you have several webmail accounts? I have 2 GMail, one Yahoo and one Hotmail account and currently use Nokia Messaging on my 5800, and am considering a switch to Android in the next few months.

Hey fiish I have both the Hero and the 5800. I have Hotmail, gmail and my work exchange email setup on my Hero. So far i think it works better on the Hero than it did with my 5800.

The Hotmail and Exchange accounts are accessed via the HTC mail client and work pretty well, you get your emails in HTML too.

The gmail suff is access via the gmail app. I dont know how it would work with multiple gmail accounts as I only have the one to test, but from what i can see, there isnt any reason why you couldnt use the HTC mail app to add your additional gmail account if the gmail one only does one!

Nadeen Wifi can be turn off by click on the menu button > settings > wireless controls than deselecting the wifi box.!

    Hi nadeen,

Any size Micro sd card will work I have put an 8GB one in. Make sure you get a class 6 card though as these are the fastest

Turning off wifi can be done by menu > settings > wireless controls and then click the wi-fi option.

You can also set the WiFi to turn it'self off when the screen is in sleep mode, or even add a widget for it to the homescreen.

I see we still haven't got the update which was meant to come through in the next 10 days.

    http://www.slashgear.com/htc-hero-ge...-soon-1752593/

But then it still isn't ten days.

    Will be on Thurs!

Roll on the update, I cant stand having to turn off my widgets to make it smoother!

Does anyone else find that once a SMS thread gets too long you have difficulty scrolling through the messages?

That feature list sorta looks like the HTC keyboard app in the Hero anyway...

Could be useful for magic owners though

Re: HTC HERO Arrived today :D

After a bit of forum trolling, there's been mentions of the "update" hitting on the 4th of September and also "In 2 weeks".

Anyone had an issue with missing inbound text messages?
I've missed a fair few and after reading the Android forums it seems to be a wide spread problem on Orange as far as I can see.
