Orange SN is definitely rejected by the HTC website
found it, but oh what a long wait to download...

agh, ffs getting loads of issues trying to sync my calendar and contacts using HTC sync. It just seems to keep failing.
The phone is unreliable at connecting to HTC sync, I finally managed to connect it by reinstalling the software (takes about 10 mins to do that!). I finally get it copying and then it times out and each time I try to sync after it stops coping immediately saying the operation timed out. I unplug my phone, plug it back in and I am back to not being able to find the sync software on my PC.
anybody else having issues?
At least I have 5 hours before this download finishes to work it out...

Can anyone tell me the directory of the music folder?
Don't seem to have that directory for some reason or another and I'm not entirely sure where to put my music.
Will start downloading the new rom and give my views when I get a chance.

I think you can use /MP3/ too, but that might appear in the UI as stuff purchased from Amazon MP3 (not available on UK phones)
I'd suggest using an Android-aware music library app (I use Banshee on Loonicks to handle my library)

As for the rom, been downloading for half an hour and it's on 1%..
by the way, select USA as your closest download location you should get it a fair bit faster. Was 56k speeds for me on the Europe server.

Anyone tried the new firmware on an orange phone?
WOndering if flashing it with the firmware will cause any issues?
You may as well wait till tomorrow when it is meant to be released on the orange website.
Shouldn't cause issues - but you can't download it with an Orange SN!
I know ya cant get it from HTC with an orange sn but there are other ways of getting it.
Well, I now have it installed and I have played about a bit. The improvement is vast I have to say, seems to work perfectly, not seen a hint of lag yet, I still have to get all my contacts synced up and sort out my widgets. I have seem to have noticed though that it messed up my settings. I'd left the majority at default but they're different to when it came out fo the box.
It also doesn't seem to vibrate when i get an email. (Haven't had a text or call to test with those let) I may turn it on and off to see if it has an effect.
Reading up on the Android forums, you wont be able to use this update on an Orange branded handset even if you do get hold of it.
It will however be released in the next 2 days, or so I read.
Still not updated mine, having to download HTC Sync again.
Well I guess I should of backed up my numbers,
What happened to the days of storing that info on the SIM?
I was gonna call that chubby girl from the pub too..

So I'm updated and had a little play, few things I've come across -
Scrolling contacts still laggy?
When scrolling from a different screen back to the weather, it used to animate the picture each time but now it doesn't? (even after checking the setting for animations).
Camera, can no longer zoom with the trackball?
Anyone able to confirm any of these?
