Hmm... my favourites are the ones I have
Sennheiser PX100 (have had them for 5 years)
Denon C551
Shure SE210 (usually used on long journeys)
I used to have, and like:
Sennheiser CX300 (gave to relative)
Sony MDR-EX82 (came with Walkman player, fell in the Cam :-( )
I have also tried the Grado SR60 in a shop and I love them. However, I couldn't justify paying so much for them as they were great but didn't better my PX100s by enough.
I love my Koss Porta Pro, but its so ugly that I just can't wear it outside!
I only own a few pairs of decent headphones so I usually use either the pair Sony MDR-Q68LW's I picked up about a year ago or my or my Skullcandy Hesh headphones which despite what many reviewers have said I find exceedingly comfortable.
I've also had the Sony MDR-EX82 with my walkman player, and I thought those were really good!
If you want a cheap alternative, Creative Labs EP-630 are pretty decent for the price.
For portable use, Koss KSC-75 when isolation is not required and Westone UM2 if it is. I like the PortaPro, but it kind likes to eat (i.e. catch onto) my hair, which is a tad painful which is why I now use the PortaPro more often.
I think it's Shure SE110s that I've got here. They're magic. I don't think I could live without noise-reduction earphones anymore, and they never fall out of my ears like plenty of lesser earphones used to. I got them for £18 thanks to a Play.com misprice.
Be wary of buying CX300s from pretty much anywhere online.
They are the no.1 faked earbuds in the world! Even the complex packaging is expertly copied.
The only thing which isn't authentic feeling is the sound.
For £17 try the Soundwise T4 (half price offer - really bassy sound)
Or for £10 get Creative's EP-830. My partner got these the other day from ebay and although they could well be fake, I think the mids and treble are spot on while the bass is controlled. They are also the comfiest and most nosie-insulating buds at this price. (normally £30)
I have the Sennheiser PX100, but am thinking of getting the Koss Porta Pro. Are the Porta Pro more comfortable on the ears than the PX100? Because after wearing the PX100 for about an hour, they tend to hurt my ears.
Ive been through 7 really good, expensive headphones within 2 years. The ones that have actually lasted are the Sony Ericcson in ear ones
I have some Seinheiser CX500's, great headphones but they seem to disintegrate on contact with suntan lotion so after a week in Marbella and then 2 weeks in Ibiza mine are ruined.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
The porta pros are quite comfy, the cushion sits tightly against your ears so your ears could get a bit hot. The metal frame can also get caught in your hair which is annoying! I taped the areas of mine where my hair gets caught. I wouldn't think people wear these headphones outside their home since theyre really ugly looking!
Shure is definitely one of the best but the high end ones is just too expensive for my taste.
For £18 you could go to HMV and get the SkullCandy Ink'd Buds which have 11mm drivers. I really love the sound myself but I'm not an audiophile so my opinion may not be the best.
