And its very nicely priced @ £25.99, has some good reviews on the itunes store, the negatives mostly relating to the phone crashing.

Not tried it, but at that price it's tempting. I'm still holding out for the Tom Tom myself, but have no idea what the price of that will be.![]()
Handtec suggested a price of £114 for the tomtom version which has since been refuted by tomtom.
I have a tomtom go520 anyway so the lure isn't so great for me, however when it comes round to the time when it starts hassling me to upgrade my maps etc I could be tempted @ £25 for copilot instead of the money tomtom want.
Apparently the copilot version also includes free speed camera updates, according to the chaps over at HUKD anyway.

Just bought it. Can't go wrong at £25 really if the TT will be over £100.Will try it out later.
Speed cams are supposedly in a later update.

Well, just tried to fire up the app and once it tries to create a username it crashes instantly. Useless.![]()

I have an old version of Co-Pilot on my XDA Orbit 2 and its just as good if not better than TomTom.
The thoughts of a chap over on the mercedes car owners forum I use.OK UPDATE*******
I've just used it EXCELLENT!!!!!!!...............It's got some VERY VERY good bits in it like .....
Instant access to Weather at your destination, Instant access to AA breakdown, different map styles, Speed & Distance logging.
having used a Tom Tom for years I would say that this is FAR BETTER the user interface is easier to work thru & the "Re-route" (for Roadworks) works far faster than Tom Tom
Cannot believe it's only £25 from the Apps store!!!!
WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY & MORE!!!!!
Seems a bit hit and miss, but good if it hits!

Just had an official email back from the Tech Support guys. They say to just uninstall and resinstall which I'm doing as I type.
Fingers crossed...
/edit - it's worked, WOO!
Looks like a pretty good interface. Will see how well it works on the road later tonight. I need a windscreen holder now.![]()
Yes, please let us know how you get on
I really do fancy only having to remember one piece of gadgetry when I go for a drive!

Right, mini review.
Firstly the installing/crashing. Yes, it's off to a bad start and whilst the tech support guys got me up and running with a fix, it doesn't inspire much confidence to see an expensive app (I appreciate it's cheap in relative terms) crash when starting up... At least the fix is as simple as reinstalling.
The app itself loads quickly, and with the assisted GPS doesn't take too long to get a fix. The menu screens are easy to navigate and there's lots of functionality built in for customising various parts of the display. Few little nice touches are the lane assist for motorways (shows you visibly which lane you need for your turning) visible speed limits for A roads and motorways. You can preprogram in rest stops, detours and even find out what the weather will be like at your destination.
The routes chosen are adequate and lets face it, a sat nav will never give you 100% perfect routes but when I used it I managed to get to my destination without any issues. Full UK postcodes are supported, and whilst it doesn't have every house number listed, you can scroll a map around and fine tune your final destination. Normal features such as favourites, home etc are supported and it even asks you once you arrive if you want to plot a route back to where you started. Nice touch.
The only bad things I can find about it is that the map scrolling is a little slow (even on a 3GS) and the keyboard layout isn't QWERTY. One other minor niggle is that obviously the GPS reception really needs the phone to be in the windscreen area. I don't have a windscreen mount (yet) so sometimes I'd have minor drop outs or delay on my exact location but this isn't Co Pilot's fault.
Is it worth £26? Hell yes and then some. I hear safety camera POIs will be added shortly, so for this price there's little else out there to compete with. It's an absolute no brainer for me, buy it.![]()
