Iphone 3.0
Android
Windows Mobile
Biggest minus for me is that its hasnt got a dedicated number buttons, but that keeps the size down. Think having them at the top on a function button is better than tha kaisers number pad setup, would love to try one.
Windows Mobile 6.5 out 6th october
windows mob ftw!
Think I might stick with windows mobile. On my kaiser at the moment, I am running windows mobile 6.5 and I can also run the hero version of android by starting an exe file. Best of both worlds.
Just deciding now whether to get a new handset as I like the touch pro 2 but also like the look of the upcoming xperia 2
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

you will need to hard unlock your phone. Flashing a ROM isn't the easiest thing in the world, but there are guides on that forum. Be aware that you can brick your handset.
XDA Developers
That's the best place to start. Loads of 6.5 roms on there to try.
If you've never flashed a rom before, check the very top of the page on the link as it links to all the how to's etc.
Once you have a program called hardspl on your phone, it's nearly impossible to brick it. I've had loads of roms and never had a single problem.

beat me to it.
I said it's nearly impossible to brick the phone. That's not quite true but it makes it a lot more unlikely if you take care with what you are doing and follow the guides.
Normally, I can just download a rom and click on the setup prog. Never need to do anything else.

wm is good but quite ugly and not finger friendly. htc manila is very very good bit only goes so far, eventually you get to wm which is not so easy to use. i think wm7 is going to be very good as it will hopefully include multitouch.
chrome/titanium on 6.5 is pretty good.

I use windows mobile at the moment but as soon as i can im going to buy an android handset.
Windows Mobile is an awkward OS, even after all its revisions and all the modders over at XDAdevelopers doing the best they can do. Its clunky and complicated however its extremely functional and has a lot of support for whatever application you can ever think of.
Iphone OS has finally now managed to include all the basic features like... picture messages but you have to have an iphone which will be the most expensive 2 weeks of your life (seeing as they break from a 2" drop, overheat and/or explode). They are immaculate devices but they are dreadfully flimsy and definately not worth the insane premium.
I havent had a lot of experience using android but what i have had ha been great. It seems very straight forward and whilst app support isnt extensive at the moment it is getting better.
