    Sim Data Plan for laptop

I am looking (and failing to find) a data plan that is sim only for my laptop.

I have a D620 which has the ability to just have a sim card put into it to get mobile broadband, I don't really want to have to get a dongle if I don't need to as it will just be an extra thing to have plugged in.

Does anyone know of any network that does this, or if I get a new P&G sim and pop it in will it work for data?

I am with Orange at the moment for my Omnia and have called them but they will only do data with a dongle, which is a shame as they would do an existing customer discount if I went with them.

Just to check - you don't just have the SIM slot, you actually have the built-in TrueMobile (frequently TrueMobile 5520) adapter installed? Are you looking for contract or PAYG? Something I'd note is that we've had problems recently with some networks using the TM internal cards and have had to supply dongles instead, same with HP machines with built-in HSDPA. You might consider something like 3's 18-month plans and just keep the free dongle in a drawer in case?

Dell 620's have SIM slot which is visible as soon as you remove the battery mate

Yes, they all have a SIM slot, but the actual HSDPA adapter was an option, it wasn't standard.

It does have the card installed as I put it in myself.

Vodafone do a year contract for just under £15/month. That includes a dongle. It might be worth ringing them to see what they will do for sim only. You might get a monthly plan (rather than a 12 month contract) or a reduction as you aren't taking any hardware.

I guess that as you've D620 you must have BB as well... Thought about tethering?
