you will either have to HardSPL the device or wait for an O2 version of the ROM.

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

There is no HardSPL for HD2 yet, although there are people working on it under closed testing so shouldnt be more than a month away I'd say..

You can change your ROM to any OFFICIAL ROM if you use the "goldcard" technique..

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

Hi all i got the Htc Hd2 windows phone recently love it and am trying to make full use of the screen size for watching movies i've saved on my harddrive.I've got a few video converters tried converting to wmv get lovely fullscreen but none of the converter software allows a change to the video frame rate resulting in very choppy viewing (any software converter,A-1 to flvto AVI MPEG,FLV2 Video),tried mp4 format for i phone can correct the frame rate but can't get full screen tried mp4 for apple tv get nearly fullscreen with sync issues any ideas would be appreciated?

Give it a whirl for a free service its very good.

I do worry MS might pull the plug on it with short notice, but I guess that's not a big issue.

At the moment it doesn't even show my memory card under the file explorer heading
I am thinking of getting the HD2 with O2 today..

Can't you just flash the ROM with the version listed on the HTC site and over right the O2 branding?

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

Phones can be locked to a network, so you can only flash them with the networks ROM.
If the phone is supplied unlocked it will have a HTC ROM so you can get them direct from HTC.

other option is to use the tools on xdadev so you can flash any ROM you want, including custom. My phone came with a contract but was unlocked, it came from mobilephonesdirect.

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

I just got he phone and it is locked to O2, which isn't too much of an issue.

Strangely when it's connected via USB I can't switch the phone off and then back on without first removing the battery.

When switched on and NOT connected by USB I can switch off and on.

I have tried another HTC HD2 locked to Vodafone but this phone can be switched off and on whilst connected via USB, without removing the battery first, so the problems seems specific to the phone as a Hardware issues or possibly a software issues as the ROM's are slightly different.

    Try this:
    Touch HD Convertor

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

Hi starbuck i tried the htc coverter it worked a treat just as you'de predicted all the other converters are lobbed into the desktop bin as the only settings that worked were i phone mp4 resulting in 3.5 inch no thks not with a 4.3inch mothaf....&all others were out of sync&framerate. The first time i tried decoder it performed flawlessly&so simple to use&saved all those countless wasted hours & stacks of feutile conversions this is a priceless piece of kit for htc hd2 owners & i love the fact it compresses files to less than half their original size without noticable quality loss, thanks again Starbuck u & your team of video codec proffessors are a credit to the likes of us screen addicts

That's a fair criticism. You do get used to it, honest. The operating system is the most impressive element - such a joy to use. Having owned an Android phone (Samsung Galaxy) and had many an iPhone in my hand the Pre wins hands down in terms of usability.
