    Re: HTC HD2 Accessories

there are other car kits coming out/already out which will allow the phone to stick magnetically to the unit and attach to the windscreen as the official kit does. The only thing the official kit does is automatically switch to co-pilot when it senses it's in the dock. There is a simple fix which can be installed from XDA(1 file which takes 2 seconds to run) and then it can be accessed with a touch of a button. Also doesn't require changing the battery cover.

    Re: HTC HD2 Accessories

Really want to get a case for this ASAP, am looking at getting the original HTC flip case, might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I like how it protects the screen (probably only to a certain extent). Anyone got one of these yet?

:edit: Oops, just noticed starbuck above advised he had ordered one. Let me know what it's like please when you get it, thanks.

I should be getting that case in next day or 2. Will let you know what it's like. Supposed to be a really good case though, going by XDA.

    Re: HTC HD2 Accessories

Got the case today. Very slim, holds phone snugly and a catch over the top holds the cover over your screen. The inside of the case is a felt material so won't scratch the screen or the phone. Also the part which goes over the screen is made from a stiff material(may have a metal plate inside it) so if it gets bumped, it will still protect your screen.

    Re: HTC HD2 Accessories

Have any of you HD2 owners bought the car mount?

I'm interested, but I want to know about that nobbly thing on the back of the replacement battery cover... is it annoying?

Also, does the car mount make direct connection through the new battery cover for charging? I'm assuming that's what the three exposed internal connectors below the battery are for... Or do you have to plug in a separate MicroUSB cable? What about audio connection - I'm assuming that this has to be made separately.

    Re: HTC HD2 Accessories

Oh yeah - good tip if you need MicroUSB cables is to search ebay for 'CA-101'. Couldn't find cheap MicroUSB cables anywhere until I did that. Then found them for less than a quid delivered using that trick!

    Re: HTC HD2 Accessories

And one last thing... CoPilot Live 8? Any good on the HD2? Does it make use of the multitouch?

I recently had my satnav stolen and I'm debating whether to get a new one or just load CoPilot on the HD2 and get a car mount... opinions?

I have a case similar to this
    http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05...876&t_mode=des
for my TD2, it has a hard aluminium plate in the leather that covers the screen.

Co pilot is pretty good (coming from TomTom 6), HD2 screen works really well as it's huge. Multi touch works and satellites lock really quick.

I've made the switch to using my HD2 as a satnav now.

Also you do get 15 days free trial, so make use of that to see whether or not it's for you.

Yes it is, considering the cost of it and how much I spent on these cases from eBay/HK its hundreds of times better...

Copilots not bad, I prefer the quick menu you get on screen for TT tho...

As for the official car kit, still waiting for stock from my favorite supplier, once they have it in I'll get it and then have to get another case with a hoel in the back for the bloody car kit...

Cool. I didn't see this on the CoPilot website. I'll check it out again and give that a go. Cheers.

Copilot comes pre-installed on the HD2, the co pilot website doesn't have the free trial on itself, which why you wouldn't have seen it.
