    Free satnav gets going in the UK

    Looks like Waze has started in the UK, its maps and traffic info are built up by users. Going to instal over the weekend. Think its winmo, android and iphone

    I'll give it a try, theres not a lot out that supports the HD2 properly yet and the bundled Copilot demo sucks balls.

    Probably down to the fact its just started and people dont know what its meant to do.

    Its satnav software yes, but until someone drives down the road it might not know the roads there so people need to map things out first...

    It'll take time to get going. Users need to do the mapping and correct mapping errors themselves. With enough user participation it could be very powerful as it has the ability to map traffic issues in real time.

    Got this on my milestone, as said it will take a while to get going as it currently has no roads mapped near me apart from the ones I've done and you couldn't call where I live remote.

    Got TomTom running on my X1 last night, will give Waze a shot to improve the maps though

    It's the kindof thing taxi drivers would benefit most from I think in terms of setting roads etc
