    LG KU990 Battery issue

Had my viewty for just over a year and it has developed a rather irritating fault. I can leave the phone on, but not use it, for about 3 days which im quite happy with. But if I do use it, after 2 minutes or so, the battery indicator drops down at a rate of 1 bar every 10/15 seconds, and then the phone just turns off. Took the battery out last time this happened, measured the voltage ,4.17V. Now this is damn close to fully charged, and I somehow doubt that the battery will drop below its nominal voltage (3.7V) while under increased load from 4.17V. Does anyone have any idea what is going on??

    Thanks in advance

While I don't know much about batteries, I have owned a Viewty for about a year (got rid of it last month though ) After about 7 months or so the battery was almost dead, I could charge it to full charge. If I didn't use it, the charge would last for about 3 days. However, if I listened to music, the battery would run out of power in less than 4 hours of music playing. This is with power saving mode on and bluetooth off. Of course the screen was locked too.

Perhaps their batteries are just really bad quality? I bought some cheap replacement batteries on ebay and they went bad after about 2 months too. So in the end I sold my Viewty.

You could try buying a cheap battery on ebay and see if you experience the same problems. If not then go and buy a genuine battery and that should last a while at least.

    Cheers for the fast reply
Will try a couple of cheapo batteries off fleabay, and if they dont work, havent lost much
Still seems a bit odd that the battery when tested after the phone turning off was still only .03V off its maximum capacity

Well it's hard to blame the phone so I'm more inclined to blame the battery.

    Re: LG KU990 Battery issue

I have a Viewty as well and i find the battery is just generally crap. The only reason i got it is because the contract was decent and this was the best phone available for that contract.

    Re: LG KU990 Battery issue

my viewty has a terrible battery life too, lasts 24 hours with occasional use, doesnt last 48 hours even if it's idle, which leaves me charging it every night to use it the next day. I thought it was the battery so I bought a new one and it didn't make any difference, this makes me think it's the phone but I'm not sure how. I'm using it in power save mode with bluetooth off etc.

    Advice

LG KU990 was my second phone. I have the LG KU990 Viewty. I had problems with battery life until inserted memory card. Days of this card was turned on, battery life is complete in the morning and evening, that all dead. Days without a card and the phone battery is full for 4 days running.

    Re: LG KU990 Battery issue

In most of the case, the battery lifetime are define based on Ah ( Ampere hour) which means the larger current you used, the lesser standby time available. Therefore, I would suggest to disable to card reader and turn it ON when you are using the card.
