So.... what phone would you recommend me?

Well vodafone says i can upgrade on the 17th this month so i assume dial a phone will also upgrade me then ( went threw them) which means i am on the lookout for a new phone!. My current phone is the LG renoir, great camera but touch screen and apps could be improved.

Heres what im looking for really:

Good camera, must be on par with renoir atleast!
    Touch screen
3" or bigger screen( nexus 3.7 is good size imo)
    Video play back
    Easy texting, QWERTY keyboard

Thats about it, i currently have been eyeing the HTC hero and similar ones but they all lack a better camera which is kinda what im looking for. All i can think of is the Pixon 12, Sony Anio? I have had no problems with LG phones and prefer them to other makes so far but im yet to see a 12mp phone from them and the Viewty smart is hardly an upgrade from mine!.

    Any suggestions are appreciated .

Re: So.... what phone would you recommend me?

Even with all the fancy lenses that are in a range, e.g. the Nokias have Carl Zeuiss (sp) lenses, the quality of photos produced can be left somewhat lacking by having a poor sensor.

Also almost all phones are designed to be slimline, have a touch screen and are increasingly powerful; there remains little space left for a camera and the right hardware to take good photos in any condition. Those that often can have a capacitor driven flash, which is essential in poor lighting. My S.E. K850i has one, the S.E. K700/750 have them too, the S.E. C905, the Nokia N82 (I think) and so does the Renoir. That's the reason why most others, i.e. with L.E.D.s can take rubbish photos; there's just not any space to put the hardware for a good flash.

Just something to think about, I stopped looking at phones over a year ago so I can't actually answer your question though. Sorry!

I'm in a similar situation, been looking at the HTC HD2. Couple of niggles from what I've read, but it seems okay.

Re: So.... what phone would you recommend me?

I would consider that deal but im only paying £13.7 for my phone at the moment and it is only a 12month contract!.

Virgin use t-mobile still yes? If so then i must stay away from them still, shocking signal here and they wanted to put a mast right next to my house! (7meteres away, we said no... so many times and they tried to bend the council to build it :L) Partly my fault for poor signal still cause of that ha!.

I'm also looking for a cameraphone. the Aino is aimed at PS3 owners, and the Satio was withdrawn in Nov. Although I understand they've just released a patch.
This leaves me with the LG Viewty or the Pixon.
What I'd really like would be something like this, as I don't have a need for smartphone functionality.

Re: So.... what phone would you recommend me?

    Thats what id like! .
Shame is samsung though... i dont get along with the touch interface especially the qwerty, i love my LG layout .

The viewty or pixon... pixon 12 or 8? If 12 id say that one, it has a metal casing so feels well nice. Viewty aint bad at all, my renoir takes great shots so it should be similar if not better and its exactly the same as the Arena although with better hardware .

Nokia N97. Really good phone, can't fault it. Does everything you want plus more. One cool thing on it is the fm transmitter, so you just tune it into your radio and you can listen to your 32gig's worth of music.
They are still a bit pricey, but i got a white one for free as i have a close family member who is high up at phones 4 u.

Re: So.... what phone would you recommend me?

Hmm, after consideration i believe its best to just ditch the want of a good camera . Ill have to just use my Canno 40D instead .

So since looking ive seen the HD2, really likeing the phone although i havent seen it in the flesh yet (will go town sometime soon). Are there any flaws with the phone and what alternatives are there to this? Im happy for big phones btw, just aslong as they can fit in a pocket .

That deal finlay is awesome and possibly the one ill take, ill get discount since im a virgin customer with everything and hopeing i can get quidco at same time !.
