Dodgy phone of podgy fingers? (Pulse)

Just got a Pulse finally and despite the glowing reviews of it I am have a nightmare of a time using it....

I am hitting the wrong keys and when the phone is flat (i.e. sat on a desk) I am also finding the touchscreen simply does not respond.

Is it me or have others had the same issues?

I had the Pulse for a while. Apparently there is a fault or a feature which means you need to be holding it for the screen to work. I found it fine when it was being held, very responsive.

Yup, like Colin said it seems to be a universal thing that the touchscreen only really works when it's being held. Can't say I've had too many problems hitting wrong keys, though the ones right at the edge of the screen (P, mostly, on the keyboard) can be a bit unresponsive, maybe if there's a shop with a demo unit you could try that in case yours is slightly dodgy?

Apparently if you stuff a bit of tinfoil between the usb socket and the edge of the phone it improves the responsiveness of the screen. I have yet to try it, I only have problems hitting space at the moment.

Tried calibrating the touchscreen?
My Hero was a bit off when I got it, recalibrating it sorted it out.

Can't find a screen calibration on the Pulse

And the "wrong key" thing is because the keys are so small......I have switched the default keyboard though and that has helped (keys seem larger) but I am having the issue with keys near the edge being unresponsive.....mainly the backspace key.
