    XDAndroid on a Touch Diamond

    As the title says, I'm toying with the idea of trying out Android on my Touch Diamond and I was wondering if anyone had any experience doing this sort of thing (the Diamond being a WM6 phone)?

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623048

    Obviously I'm running the risk of bricking my main phone but a) I generally dislike it and b) I can't justify buying even one of the cheapest Adroid phones at the moment.

    Yay, it worked*!

    *To the extent that it was ever going to work - no GPS, camera, bluetooth or hardware acceleration in this build of Android. And it seems very keen on cooking the radio circuits

    Not working (as of 27.10.2010):

    * Camera
    * GPS
    * Bluetooth
    * Opengles hardware acceleration
    and calendar by the looks of it

    from what iv seen of work done on htw wizard, samsung omnia, and touch diamond II it not looking hopeful that a "proper" port will happen. always comes down to lack of drivers and i cant see that changing, especially on existing handsets - unless htc or whoever bring out a hardware identical phone just running android.

    so nice to mess with but nothing more really

    Probably right. As much as anything the hardware just isn't up to spec, it works but it's a bit laggy for general use.

    It is fun to mess with though and the dual boot system works well so I don't lose WM for proper use.
