    Samsung Phones

I am a bit of a fan of how the new Samsung phones look. In particular the Jet and the Omnia 2. Has anyone got any real experience of these. I have read that the Jet Ultra is just the Jet rebranded but it is now on O2 so I'm interested. I like the Omnia (although its not on O2) in that its a smartphone but apart from the OS and screen size it seems pretty similar. Is the internet differrent between them, as I hope to use this more on my next phone?

And I see that the Wave might not be far away, is it worth waiting for Bada?

    Re: Samsung Phones

Avoid Samsung. Their screens are beautiful with their new technology, the camera is good, but the UI is really rubbish. My mum had a Tocco Ultra, I hated setting the thing up and changing things in it. She hated it as well, she now has a Nokia N86.

IMO the UI for Samsung and LG are pants.

    Re: Samsung Phones

I've got the original Omnia which has a really poor default interface. It is awkward and the response of the screen is poor. I'm running custom firmware to improve and get rid of these issues.

From the reviews I've read of the Omnia 2 the default interface has been completely revamped. They've pretty much hidden all of windows mobile making it finger friendly and easy to use. The screen has improved but being resistive it will always have some issues.

    There's a good video review here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iedIijyuuI

    Re: Samsung Phones

Thanks for the input guys. I eventually found quite an in depth review of both phones at techradar.com. They highlight both points, the resistive screen, and the UI letting down the overall experience. TBH I was quite dissapointed, I suppose I expected more as IMO the older Samsungs phones, to which I have owned, have always been quite good, seems like they've gone downhill. Back to the drawing board

    Re: Samsung Phones

Currently posting from a Jet and I really like it. I copied my friend and flashed the firmware almost immediately so I have no idea what the default is like.

The only fault I can give it is that the vibration is so weak I can't feel it in my pocket so I have lots of missed calls (until I can be bothered to do something about it!)

    Re: Samsung Phones

Thanks Englander, might now reconsider. I think im going to get a demo in the shop to see what its like. Heard there is an updated firmware for the Ultra version which is better, but out of interest how did you flash it as didnt know you could.
