The '3' Network - any good these days?

I know back in the day they were pretty rubbish, but i hear they have improved

I need to leave O2 as they have offered me a rubbish upgrade and now '3' seem to be offering the best deal on the 9700 bold 2

Avoid them, they have 'improved' but are still the worst of all the providers. Have you had a look on Mobiles.co.uk for the best deal on the 9700?

I wouldn't deal with any company which base their call centres overseas, I.E. '3', Orange etc. When a problem arises they are not worth the hassle, you never know who you spoke to, you have to repeat everything 10 times to 10 different people and have to end up writing a complaint letter to somewhere north of Scotland where eventually nothing will get done.

Just avoid them, stick with o2 (pay the premium for good customer service) or go with Vodafone.

Here is an old thread where time to time people seem to post their recent problems with '3' http://forums.hexus.net/mobile-phone...lems-help.html

When did Orange move their call centre, I'm with them and I'm certain that last time I spoke to them ~18mths ago, it was definitely someone in the UK?

Speaking of this, I phoned 3 the other day, after being told to phone another phone number, as the one I got off the website was wrong, and then punching my way through various menu options, I got connected to a very nice Indian sounding chap who spoke very good English.

    I nearly fainted.

Although I can't comment on 3 having never used them, I'm with Orange and I have spoke to both English and Indian customer services. I have to say that even though some of their stuff is handled over seas they were very polite and spoke perfectly acceptable english. On and the chap didn't claim to be called Dave or Barry....
