Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Hoorah, got my Desire back from HTC today, must have been truly buggered (bad rom update & other issues) as they've sent me a new fone! HTC's customer service is very good by the way, sent a courier to pick it up and deliver it back all free of charge.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Got mine on Monday. On Orange. 800 mins, unlimited text, "unlimited" internet (AUP/FUP 500MB). £27 per month. Plus £1 OrangeCare. 24 month contract.

First android device. And I LOVE it.

Download speed is awesome, I have been trying different apps like crazy.

Although I am probably going to root it next week anyway. And Gmail makes it so easy to manage all your contacts.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Sales have slowed of the iPhone due to the 4G being leaked I think. The EVO and Incredible probably wont be out over here (US Carrier specific phones), but maybe an equivalent some time soon. Around the iPhone launch. HTC make a phone which will smash the specs of the 4G and the Nokia N8.

The battery is fine provided you don't use wifi/gps all the time. I suspect it'll get better once you realise that you don't really need to use the internet all the time

Read most of the links previously as well as other threads over at XDA.

I am sure that the battery life will improve over time, most of the week I have just been playing with the phone and getting use to the settings... after a week or two I am sure the novelty will wear off

You can say that again. Battery life pretty much sucks. Have to recharge it every night!

Are there any docks for the desire?

    Also, any decent screen protectors/cases?

Meh, remember I have only had it less than a week. The battery needs to be broken in.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Battery will be very poor when you first get a Smartphone - part of that is technical (battery) but most of it is because you spend every waking moment using the darn thing!

Going down to the smoke today, if one's in stock in a shop i'm seriously going to be tempted to do something silly Really ought to just order OL and be patient!
