Does the Desire play Divx yet? A quick search shows 'coming soon' in lots of places but that was a while ago?

Carrier update? What carrier? You think it's the finished version? We've already had a kernel change yesterday since the initial leak...
As for the update. It broken 25-40% of my apps, I think there's a lot of changes, I don't think you can just lay Sense UI over the top.
We'll just wait and see, shall we? You think the Desire will have it in the next two weeks (by 4th July if I'm kinda and say we start from today) I think no way will it. We're talking official OTA update's of course.
The only possible way this could happen would be if for some reason Google are holding it off so the N1 and Desire get it together, but I just don't think that's what they will do. As I say, we've already had a kernel change, so I don't think they've finished with it yet.
There is an app called RockPlayer that is in beta at the mo, works flawlessly in my experience, playing AVI, MKV and more!

NOTHING TO BE SEE HERE, MOVE ALONG PLEASE....
:: of all the things i've lost i miss my mind the most ::
Never said carrier update, I said carrier schedule for updates. Google have said it's a priority to get them out for the Nexus
Well considering it could be down to a couple of API changes that most applications reference
So where did I say ANYTHING about the Desire updates?
Well, someone said FroYo will be on the Desire within two weeks, I disagreed and you started arguing with me...
You still need to explain to me what carriers have to do with Google releasing 2.2?
Anyway, tbh, I think you're confused, you're almost confusing me. I'm happy with the points I made to the original point (not sure then where you've wandered) so I won't bother any further in this discussion.
It won't be out in two weeks, if it is I will be very surprised. HTC aren't exactly quick when it comes to rolling out updates.
Carriers such as O2, Orange brand their firmware with all their apps and stuff. So they need to get the update, brand it, then release it to their customers which is why there is a delay. As far as carriers interfering with the actual vanilla Google release, I don't think they do.
I am looking forward to the update but most people seem to be making something big out of 2.2. Its not all that, just adds a few cool features, and bug fixes.
I'm still waiting for the Google Contacts division to sort out the contact photos. I went through my favourites and did a phone contact for each one so their picture doesn't look messy.
Disaster, chums.
Noticed a wee while ago that the phone was randomly restarting on high levels of robo Defence.
Just took it to spain: it kept restarting during mobile data all the time.
Just been in my pocket in sunny coventry, restarted and now refuses to stay on for more than 30 seconds.
Taking it into Carphone Warehouse tomorrow. Not happy. Overheating appears to be an issue, from looking it up on t'internets.
Anyone else?
here's another thread I contributed to

Hmmmmm..... OK, well, I was just on t'telephone to HTC, and did a system reset, restart with sim, without sim, with sim and microSD, with MicroSD but without sim, etc. In all circumstances:
Reset of it's own accord after a few seconds.

Not had any overheating issues at all...
Try using GPS navigation in the car while plugged in on the charger. Gets hot ...
Although no overheating or crashing as a result.
I've also had no overheating issues and I battered mine for over 2 hours at a time on wi-fi all the time without any issues or crashing.
Hmmmmm.... OK, just me then.
Oddly, with no sim in it, works fine. Put a sim in: reboots.
Wifi was not a problem unless pulling through youtube footage. I've had mine since 3/4/10, don't know if that's longer than you lot, but when I put it in the fridge in Spain, it would work longer before rebooting.
Hey ho. it's borked, anyway. Let's see what HTC can do about it.
I'm not the only one, and I'm not dreaming it, as there are other reported instances of this happening.

I've read about a few people having issues so it's not an isolated case.
Keep this thread updated Shooty and let us know what HTC find, that is if they let you know
Update: They've opened the back, and there's this strange luminous crack across the motherboard, with what look to be parts of a 1920s police telephone box embedded in it.
Most peculiar. When they press the power, nothing happened. Just The Silence.

My first HTC Desire would reboot when there was a sim in it, think i posted about at the beginning of this thread. Hadn't noticed any overheating beforehand though as it did from day one. . Basically boot up fine to the home screen and then about 30sec later it would reboot. Never did it if you booted with a sim in it. RMA'd back to HTC & received a replacement phone in five days. HTC customer service was excellent.
