Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Just spent ages looking for the best deal on this online, rang orange to get my PAC code, and they gave me an offer significantly better! Free phone and actually paying less than I am currently

Do any Hexites have experience using the desire with a mac OS? I have a windows PC and a macbook, and would love it to work on both. I'm going to play the vodafone customer retention department off against orange and see what I can wheedle out of them...

In case this hasn't been answered yet, find a destination on the map, long click it, select navigate, by turn, and voila! It's already in!

I think that was how I did it this morning anyway.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Hey guys been playing around with my new Desire for a few days now and I just bought my first game from the android market.

What I wanted to know is if there's a way to password protect the market? As now that I've added in my card details it seems I can just go and click buy on any app and my account will be debited, with no prompt for a password or even the CVS number, doesn't seem very secure at all.

If your contract runs out in May then usually Orange allow you to upgrade 3 months early.

If you log onto your online account with orange it should give you a date when your eligible for an upgrade.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

I've just placed an order for a Desire with Vodafone. I usually buy unlocked from Amazon or Xpansys but I got a great deal with VF that I couldn't beat with buying the handset myself and continuing my sim only deal. The Vodafone rep swore blind that there's no VF branding on the device or OS, I hope she's telling the truth or its going right back.

I'm replacing my touch pro 2, I'll miss the physical keyboard but win mo is just too far behind the curve now and there's not a chance I'd go for the lock-in that is iphone...

Thanks for the link to the case on Amazon. I'll be having one of these too...

Men's from Vodafone, no branding here. I don't think they even lock them these days either...

Good news, thanks, good to know. Vodafone royally screwed all the winmo ROMs I've had from them, so much so that I stopped getting my handsets from them!
