I think I need to give T-Mobile a phone sometime. I wonder if they could do me an upgrade for 12 months at £40/month if I offered to pay something for the phone?
I really don't want an 18 month contract.
I don't think anyone offers 12 month contracts on smartphones nowadays. Let me know how you fair if you go down that route @Funkstar. 18 months is doable, 24 months no no. Phones are refreshed every 6 months now, so in 24 months they are way obsolete. I look after my kit, but that doesn't exempt it from the odd drop by accident.
I am interested in the Desire. So I would be curious about real user use of it. The Hero wasn't up to par, but they seem to have dealt with it in the Desire.
They are so bad at doing upgrades for me, I normally do the whole switch-a-roodle instead.

Was about to upgrade to the Jet on o2 as wasnt set on a smartphone but saw they also announced this phone. Every network is getting it so there could be some competition on tariffs.
Techradar has this hands on review, brief but something to start off

I only just got a Hero a few months ago, there's the Legend due out next month, and now another new one!?
Though to be honest, they're all Android phones with HTC's Sense UI, so I can't see it being all that different really. Besides having a flash for the camera and a higher resolution screen, it's essentially the same phone. Seems like HTC are releasing the same Android updates for the Hero in like with the release of the new phones too.
It does look nice though...
It has been delayed. it was suppose to be dispatched and delivered by saturday but now teh new day is for march 31st
Ordered mine on Monday I think from Tmobile (£20 a month for 18 months + £129 up front) - I got it earlier today, though the nubs at Royal mail left it at my neighbours without leaving me even a note, good thing I'm good friends with my neighbors
Still charging while I do housework, but I got mine
Just got mine also. fully charged and now playing around with it
Going to make some apps for it now hehe.
First impressions @j.o.s.h.1408?
O2 get it in April apparently so I am gonna wait to see what they are offering before I consider selling this hero and upgrading.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
I'l give a breakdown of my impressions of this device:
- The UI is as slick and fast as a iphone. No lag whatsoever while some music was playing in the background and the web browser on
- If you have a facebook and twitter account, A widget called friends streams RSS all updates gathered from twitter and facebook in one list.
- Audio quality in terms of using it has a mp3 player is on par on my ipod touch
- build quality is good, very good slick design all round
- fantastic screen. better than the iphone
- The sense UI is so good that their is no reason to go into the main menu as you can add tons of shortcuts, widgets across 7 different screens
- Camera quality is decent (will post some later)
now for some negetives
- Battery life is OK. i started playing around with it heavily from 2pm browsing the internet, playing music and as of now, i have drained half of the battery life. i heard what kills it is the friends stream and the emails that get pushed to me
- The back cover could have been build a bit better. the plastic bit that connects and locks it in place is a bit too thin and i hope i dont break it like i did on the N95
- No pouch included on it which is a shame
- Keyboards not as good as a iphone. i can type faster on the iphone without spelling mistakes/auto correcting my spelling then the Desire(I may need to re-calibrate the Desire's keyboard) but as it is with no tweaking, its good, a 7/10 good while the iphones keyboard is a 9/10
Overal this device is excellent. Very fast and responsive as a iphone. Very chuffed that the MP3 player is as good as my ipod touch so i have no need for an ipod
All i need is a 32gb sd card hehe.
I am going to start creating some personalized apps for it. This thing is a beauty i tell ya.
