HTC Hero - Lag much?

Hey.

Just wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing the same thing as me, my HTC lags like CRAZY when typing a message/email. Its like im too fast for the phone to keep up (lol )

Its uhm.. Build Number: 2.73.61.5 which is an update i did a few months back that did fix a laggy home screen.

Phone isn't filled up with apps (got like 10 at most). Got an 8gb memory card in it which is basically empty. Which reminds me also it takes a day and age to browse through my images (there a few snaps on there but as we know the camera on these things is terribad and actually impossible to take a picture without natural light).

Any ideas? Am I not alone??!

if you can, you want to update it to 2.73.405.66 ROM and 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 radio, preferably after rooting (or you may need to root it anyway if you are on a t-mobile, orange etc branded handset)

after that you want to put a task killing app on, i use taskpanel lite but there are plenty in the market to choose from. you can use this to kill off selected memory hogging applications like the browser when your phone goes into standby.

no lag at all, and iv got a shedload more stuff on than you so id give this a bash

I see, not sure what rooting is, you know of any guides about this? Phones on orange
