    HTC HD2 Phone

Hi guys, has anyone got their eye on this phone?

Soon to be released - Win 6.5 platform powered by a 1GHz snapdragon processor. I'm tempted to make this my next phone!

Hands on video on this page (not in English though).

    http://techblog.gr/techtv/htc-hd2-fu...o-review-9027/

HTC has done a great job in skinning Win Mo 6.5.

I'm really impressed with the HTC's in general... I've never used them before, until last night when I tried out my friends Hero - was checking out the prices on that, until I saw this!

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

The Winmob 6.5 ROM for the Touch Diamond 2 is very nice, kind of like a cut down HD2 as it has a smaller screen and less funkyness in the interface as a result.

HTC do make very very good hand sets in my opinion.

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

This will be on my shortlist, along with a couple of Android phones probably, but it's a few months yet until my contract is up and I can't afford to pay the ~£500 SIM free price!

Just updated the ROM on my HD to the final release from from the HD2 earlier today, working pretty nicely now (if a little slow at times). Shame I can't flash on the extra processing power too
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

T-mobile have it as "coming soon" and from what I've heard, the phone is officially released on wednesday, whether they'll have it is anyone's idea.

I just chatted to one of their sales guys online(actually it was a girl) and asked when it would be available, apart from the fact she kept saying they have no idea, she then ended the conversation with me and said as she was one of the sales people, she could not help me with the answer and suggested I call them.

Apart from being a bit rude for ending the conversation with me like that, if the sales team have no idea, who else is supposed to? I thought they would have up to date info to help them sell the phones.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

I couldn't help myself, I put in an order, it arrived today - first impression, amazing - just picked it up and got stuck in, intuitive, no problems with typing on screen and very responsive.

Although someone like me would be overly impressed, seeing this is the first smart phone i've ever bothered to get! The screen is awesome...huge! but the good thing is, the device isn't overly big. It's just right.

If anyone has any questions about the phone, would be glad to try and answer.

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

Do functions like the weather and "my location" stuff work properly without you having to be connected to a wifi network?

Thats the only real PITA with the HD, you have to be on wifi for it to do certain things..

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

The weather on my Touch Diamond 2, with the original 6.1 ROM and the new 6.5 ROM all works over the mobile network. I would be very disapointed if this was not the case with the HD2.

Actually, are you sure it isn't a configuration issue with your handset and your network? Orange have been known to disable loads of data services in the past.

I agree, I recently purchased myself a HTC Magic, put on a custom firmware (cynogenmod) and a class 6 mini sd card and it runs very smoothly. Tons of apps available as well

I have been looking at either the HD2 or a 3GS as my next phone, I have a Touch Pro 2 on Vodafone (for work) and the Weather app will not update on 3G, it only works on wifi...

Phone has the Vodafone WM 6.5 rom installed

Both My Touch Pro with 6.1 and 6.5 on Vodafone update the weather manually over the mobile network. My Touch Pro 2 also updated over the Mobile network running 6.1.

    Re: HTC HD2 Phone

I'm getting my HD2 delivered tomorrow from mobile phones direct. As they have a store near me,I popped in at the weekend. They wanted to charge me £120 for the phone. Went onto their own website and got the same tariff etc but a free phone. They claim they're not able to match online deals, seems strange when it's their own website they cannot match.
